Swing shifts to create fairness amongst shifts causes pretty crazy work/life balance kind of the equivalent of a socialist government where everything is equally bad.

Hot End Technician (Former Employee) –  Richburg, SCMay 15, 2017
Not a bad place to work but they don't pay nearly enough for the work that they expect out of you. Insurance is great and affordable which you need with a lack of pay. As long as you're safe and come to work, you'll have a job.

Shipping and Receiving Worker (Former Employee) –  Richburg, SCApril 10, 2017
The chain of command is so top heavy here that it quickly goes from a joke to a daily annoyance that drives people from it left and right. The turnover rate is high here and that is because they treat the employees as expendable resources.
Pros
Money
Cons
Everything else

glass packer,forklift operator,quality control (Former Employee) –  Richburg, SCMarch 13, 2017
Guardian has its pros and cons. the heat in summer was one of the hardest and the favoritism shown to some of the workers by some of the upper hands wasn't good. I did enjoy my work because knowing that I made good quality of product and our customer was happy was worth it all.
Pros
heat, partiality to some workers
Cons
employee health program

Coater Operator (Former Employee) –  Richburg, SCJanuary 26, 2016
A typical day is pretty straight forward, you know what you are doing. Some managers are good while others are not so good at what they do. The hardest part is having to be watched the entire time there.

Operator/QC Tech (Former Employee) –  Richburg, SCOctober 21, 2014
Typical day involved closing up completed stoches to be shipped to customer. Inspection of the glass, which was very critical. Also, manual pack which was the hardest part of the day.The company is very team oriented and relied on the operators to be self-motivated. The most enjoyable part of the day for me was the beginning when I helped to get the shift set up.

Multi-craft Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) –  Richburg, SCOctober 25, 2013
It is a very demanding yet rewarding job. It is a 24/7/365 operating facility that switches from day to night shift every 2 weeks. This schedule is very hard on your health and family life.
Pros
Only 14 (scheduled) work days in a month.
Cons
Switching from days to nights every 2 weeks + aprox. 5 on call days a month.
