Senior Process Engineer (Former Employee) –  Detroit, MIJanuary 4, 2019
It is a manufacturing company and for most part operated in general shift, though at times I had to go in shift. I enjoyed working as it helped me to interact with people from all levels and the work was fully technical. My past experience of working in Japanese industries helped me to understand total quality control and apply to the job.

Everyone works together when needed to get the job done. We share our most favorable shops and ask one another for help when needed. We do group activities as well.

I believe this is a well organized company and some of the best preventive maintenance I have seen
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Former Employee) –  Kingsburg, CADecember 19, 2018
The Maintenance department was well organized
I learned a wealth of knowledge
Management was professional and worked hard
Fast paced
The hardest part was the rotation of shifts and packing glass but I do believe they have resolved that issue of rotating shifts
The camaraderie and learning how to pack glass l remember thinking packing glass was the hardest thing I ever did as I watched people pack with so much speed and precision . As I master the craft of packing techniques I was proud
Pros
Bonuses
Cons

Skilled trade comes with a lot of challenges. Willingness to accept change and innovation becomes an issue with the senior technicians
CNC Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Upper Sandusky, OHNovember 23, 2018
Overall a good place to work. Fair wages for the area's manufacturing. Management is constantly changing and the Upper Sandusky facility recently sold and befits were changed and there is a lot of uncertainty as to the future of the plant's direction.
Pros
Luncheons for SAFETY and target goals
Cons
A lot of challenges with process engineering

Packer/Line worker (Former Employee) –  Carleton, MINovember 16, 2018
Typical factory job. You work on a line packaging glass. Your shifts are 12 hours long. There is overtime available once you are sufficiently trained.

QUALITY ASSURANCE / CUTTER OPERATOR (Former Employee) –  Carleton, MIOctober 24, 2018
Total boys club. If you are buddies with upper management, or were in the military, you can do no wrong. Home work life balance is almost non-existent.

Good place to work, but the schedule is terrible.
Regular Employee (Current Employee) –  Carleton, MIOctober 21, 2018
Is good place to work, but the schedule is terrible. The schedule changes every two weeks with mandatory overtime, and the mandatory overtime schedule changes every week. That means you won't have a life but working. No time for school or sometimes you will have to change your doctor appointment.....etc more often.
Pros
Nice people to work with
Cons
Schedule is terrible

Glass packer (Former Employee) –  Corsicana, TXOctober 15, 2018
Guardian Glass Industry is a stable company to work for. They offer good benefits. They are a company that has been around for years and will probably be around a long time.

IT Technician (Former Employee) –  Auburn Hills, MIOctober 11, 2018
A very family style atmosphere coupled with a relaxed working environment. Employees were regarded as family to upper management.
Very easy to get along and do your job without fear of recourse if something went wrong. A very good learning/teaching environment.

Not a good place to work if you want to feel satisfied with your job.
Final Line Assembler (Current Employee) –  Upper Sandusky, OhioOctober 9, 2018
The plant is very disorganized, and although the work isn’t difficult, it can be very hectic and stressful. The starting pay is decent ($14.05 plus shift differential) but they don’t give substantial raises, and are dishonest about how you move up the pay scale.
Pros
Weekends off, free fruit every week, ice cream machines
Cons
Short breaks, favoritism, no one is held accountable for their actions

G-9 Technician (Current Employee) –  Corsicana, TXOctober 8, 2018
Guardian is a stressful place to work. The pay is not great, unless you don't mind killing yourself working overtime. The management is HORRIBLE. The labor workers are unappreciated.

Unfortunately Leadership fails to recognize and utilize existing talented professionals, with some mentorship, there are many professionals here who can be future leaders. The HR capability has been redesigned and has doubled in size. Time will only tell to see if this changes how Guardian grooms and recognizes talent.

Its hard work.
Production Worker (Former Employee) –  Corsicana, TXAugust 23, 2018
Its hard work but the pay is worth it, you'll always have money to support yourself as well as your family.
The rotating shift between nights and days can take a toll on you but if you last long enough you can find ways to get use to it.
Pros
The pay is great
Cons
It can get repetitive and tiring

Electrical Technician (Former Employee) –  DeWitt, IAAugust 19, 2018
Working in extremely hot conditions while working on a rotating days/nights 12 hour shift and being expected to work on days off. Training was non-existent. Management seemingly oblivious to working environment.
