Guidewire has a good work-life balance and gives a good amount of flexibility to its employees. A lot of long timers work here. People are smart and friendly. The culture is changing a little with recent changes in management but these changes may be good for the future of the company.
Senior Business Analyst (Former Employee) – San Jose ,CA – March 18, 2019
I felt that the team is not inclusive for new comers. Even a highly experienced professional is told what has to be done. Severely biased work culture where monopoly wins . It was hard to feel that we are part of a team. Highly political with back stabbing and no transparency.

Guidewire is a very interesting company, started by some McKinsey consultants to serve the Property and Casualty insurance industry. By all accounts, they have have done a great job of developing and implementing enterprise software and helping their clients to achieve their business goals. Guidewire has done a lot of things right and seem to be most constrained by the large and conservative nature of their clients.
Product quality, professional services, market position
Customers have older software perspectives and systems, projects take years, HQ (overhead depts) limited/constrained
