The best leaders always lead by example. It is not enough to have a title behind your name. You earn respect by working alongside your staff; communicating with them and listening to them. A good leader is visible and trusted. Gulfside is a small company... there is no excuse as to why we don't see the executive staff much. Monthly town hall meetings are a must and upper management should be prepared to hear the good, bad and ugly. Rentention Is the name of the game. Gulfside will

Gut upper management. Negative, gossipy old cronies who thrive on gossip and bad-mouthing their staff.

Less upper management, more staff to actually care for the patients and families. After all isn't that what hospice care is all about.
