Stressing but friendly
Dishwasher (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CAJune 3, 2018
Loved the place despite my short stint.
Staff was friendly, management was awesome, it was very coordinated.
But it was too stressful because this restaurant tends to be crowded with so many people. Which is why I think it's so successful.
Pros
Great food, friendly staff
Cons
Fast paced environment catch up to you if you're not fast enough.

Hostess (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 1, 2018
There isn't a lot of room to grow in the company. Management is very secluded and doesn't seem to care much about employees. Great way to get your feet in the door if you want to work in the restaurant business but no room for growth.

Poor management
Manager in Training (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILMay 31, 2018
This place is run by disorganized lackluster leaders. They have no clue what their staff is doing. Horrible training regimen, super unorganized and not worth the headache.
Pros
Decent food.
Cons

Server & Part-Time Bartender (Former Employee) –  Flushing, NY 11355May 29, 2018
Management was extremely poor. Not all of them, just two in particular. Always contradicted themselves which slowed down the flow of the work space. Never listened to the needs of the employees, ZERO benefits, employees were viewed as disposable, there were times when the paychecks came out to less than what was rightfully earned.
Pros
Money 180+ a night on average
Cons
everything else besides fun coworkers

Fun place to work and interact with the customers
Server (Former Employee) –  New York, NYApril 10, 2018
The supervisor is very condescending, the staff is predominantly Asian, the supervisor has poor supervisory skills, i feel like to have a good thriving team you don't put down your team you see where they lack and try to help them catch up.

Great stepping Stone
Line Cook/Prep Cook/Dish pit (Former Employee) –  Kapolei, HIApril 2, 2018
A typical work day depends on the shift you work. Day time line cooks do most of the food prep for the night time guys while the night time guys express more focus on the break down and cleaning of the restaurant. It is a faced place enviorment and challenging in a way where tickets can stack up very quickly on you. The hardest part about the job is pushing out all the food in a timely manner while keeping your line stocked while getting slammed with orders.
Pros
Discount
Cons
Short breaks, no paid meals, not enough hours

Restaurant Manager (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAMarch 29, 2018
Overall a good company to work for. Very fast pace and training was done at a rapid pace. Small restaurant but very busy and kept Managers very busy. Food and service was always a little slow but was worth the wait.
Pros
Free dinners for Managers
Cons
30 min breaks, no insurance if not full time

I enjoyed my time there the owner was awesome and the team we built was great as well. Just like in every kitchen there are always things that happen but it was good overall for the most part.

Stressful/ lacks professional communication between staff
Server/Waiter (Former Employee) –  Santa Clarita, CAMarch 22, 2018
The money is definite and able to be earned, but split tips is not something most waiters/waitresses are interested in. This comes into play when the staff does not hold their own weight.
Pros
Decent tips
Cons
Discounted food is not really a "discount"

Great co-workers but Bad management!
Customer Service/ Host (Former Employee) –  Flushing, NYFebruary 28, 2018
It was a decent place to work at but however I felt the management need more training as managers to better excel the business. The people there are great people to work with but definitely could use your time elsewhere.

There weren't that many perks for this job. You didn't receive much tip money and food was only discounted during your shift. The management played favorites but the other co-workers were really nice people.

Not for the Weak
Bartender (Former Employee) –  Unknown Gulch, IDJanuary 9, 2018
The management are often understanding of employees, and the restaurant has a great theme, and money was good. They had awesome Christmas parties and were very approachable to time off. However, lack of transparency regarding tip-share policies, worker burnouts, and no formal employee to management services(suggestion boxes) or employee reviews were stifling. But that's the nature of the high volume restaurant industry. Know what you're getting yourself into.
Pros
Family culture, tips, easy to get time off
Cons
employee and management development

Server and Bartender (Former Employee) –  San Jose, CAJanuary 4, 2018
The managers was so unprofessional and cared for themselves. They would want us to take our lunch once we clocked in. They would never let us take vacation.

Tip Pool
Server, Trainer (Former Employee) –  Cupertino, CAJanuary 2, 2018
Tips are split from a pool from all of the servers which can be frustrating when fellow servers actively chooses not to carry their weight. However, the other employees are incredibly helpful and kind. Developed great bonds here.
