H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M) is a Swedish fashion and retail company known for its range of trendy and fashionable clothing for women, men, teenagers and children. The company was founded in 1947 by Erling Persson in Västerås, Sweden. At that time, the company sold only women's clothing and was called Hennes, which means "hair" in Swedish. In 1968, Persson bought Mauritz Widforss, a shop in Stockholm that specialised in hunting gear but also sold men's clothing. He renamed the shop Hennes & Mauritz, which was later shortened to H&M.

The H&M group consists of six independent brands: H&M, COS, Monki, Weekday, & Other Stories and ARKET. We have over 4,200 shops in 76 markets around the world.

We want to lead by example when it comes to fashion and sustainability. In this context, our employees play a key role and can contribute to more sustainable fashion, now and in the future. We want to enable everyone to choose a sustainable lifestyle and, in short, enable everyone to look good, feel good and do good!

H&M is a good company to work for, company wise. I have to say after a few months tasks and overall job life becomes very repetetive and the joy is kind of taken out of being there.

Despite there being a lot of customers, hours just aren’t enough. The work itself is not too bad and the managers aren’t either but it can be stressful for your mental health. Then again, what retail job isn’t.

Ehhh it was okay but could have been better with better managers and team and guidelines no creative freedom at all whatsoever hahaha pay was also very bad
Sales Advisor in Livingston, NJ

Overall the job was pretty easy, there was favoritism amongst the managers and employees but that’s a given once you start working with the same people every day. Pay was ok could’ve been more for the extra work we do. But overall loved the people I worked with and enjoyed my time there.

I had my group interview last week. It was fairly easy., divided in 3 segments. As an ice breaker, we were asked to draw the activities we love to do in spare time and why do we want to work for h&m . And then we had to talk about it. Next the interviewer briefly told us the history of h&m. She divided us into 3 groups and each group was given a topic . I wrote on " how customer expectations has been changed over the years " . Last segment was individual. Each of us had to answer different questions. My question was what do you expect from your manager? Other questions - who motivates you? What is your greatest achievement till date? Where do you want to see yourself in 5 years? How do your friends describe you? It was fairly easy .
