This largely depends on what industry you come from. If you come from outside of healthcare, you will find many industries such as tech, financial services, and pharma you will find that healthcare providers pay less, but pay is just on factor of a job. That being said you would also find the culture of healthcare to be more cordial, more mission driven than in those industries. If you come from the healthcare space you would find that HCA is competitive.

It is all about what you have to offer, then you can name your price.
I feel the salary is competitive, it just depends on the department and your field as stated above.
It all the pens on your experience and what they feel you’re worth based off of your previous salary that you made at your previous jobs so it all depends I don’t feel like they pay low at all
HCA claims to be ethical, fair, and one of the best companies to work for, however that is not true and where do they get their statistical or factual data on these matters? Absolutely horrible to work for and not worth it. Non competitive pay and management is awful, they could use some training, it might help them keep their employees, but I doubt it. They only care about the big guy and quantity over quality of care. Oh and they absolutely do not value their employees or their hard work. In fact I was told I could find another job. Hope that helps you make your decision.
HCA is nothing but a political circus. They could care less about the patients or the employees.
You are right! The longer you work for them the worse it gets. I guess they figure "whatever. Where are they going to go at this point. We don't need to treat our employees well because they've been loyal". Maybe it affects their bonuses? Or maybe the guys in Nashville are having trouble making yacht or mansion payments.
Although HCA states that it depends on what industry you come from I have found that this is not true. I have worked for various corporations, non-profit as well as for profit all in the healthcare industry and in comparison HCA does pay on the low end of the scale. Not at all competitive even when including benefits.
HCA is a private operated hospital which means not as much revenue comes in from other areas. People in higher levels of importance do not share the money with the employees.
