What would you suggest Habitat For Humanity management do to prevent others from leaving?
If the employees were looked upon like human beings, they might actually care about getting fired! I watched so many good people walk out the door do to poor management that it almost made me sick at times! We were disposable!
I have held positions in management and I know the interview process well. The interview with the ReStore manager was ok. It started off friendly and relaxed but seemed to become stiffer and some kind of tension from the manager near the end. To me it seemed he determined he wasn’t interested anymore . It happens I know but don’t let the applicant pick up on it.
I really wanted that job. I was excited because the hours, the product, customer service and non profit organization was just what I wanted. I think since I retired early I had a cap on how much I could earn annually. Even at full time there I would not reach that annual cap. That seemed to turn the manager off . Too bad. I would have infused some energy into that store
I found it a very stressful place. You work until you cant. Very sad that you don't feel respected. The manager... is only there for themselves
What advice would you give the CEO of Habitat For Humanity about how to improve it?
Spend less with other people's money! Stick to the why habitat was started. It was at georgia that a caring god loving couple started this not for pure lie and greed but to do good. Follow that path.
We work from Tuesday to Saturday from 7 to 3:30 I would like to have my Saturdays of but due to the fact that volunteers are more able to work on weekends I understand the schedule
Some branches do not offer health insurance to full time employees - they only offer a stipend that does not even come close to covering the cost of health insurance. Surprised that all the branches of Habitat for Humanity do not join together to offer low cost health insurance to employees across the U.S.
It was simple and easy to get in and talk to the right people in order to set up the hours I needed to inter there.
None really as long as everyone is working staying positive then there is no stress because were all in this together
