I been at HUMC for 13 years so the process may be different. I had a interview with the manager of my unit. He hired me, then I met with human resources. There was a week long orientation of the hospital. Then I was trained on the unit for two weeks.

Stress, poor management, not enough staff, no breaks, two transporters and two staff members to clean bed when patient was discharged. Nurses had to transport patients, move beds around, even clean,wash the beds, mop the floor if no-one was available. Answer phones, do everyone else's job including their own. I worked night shift. There was always plenty of staff on the day shift.
