Hale and Hearty Soups insights
What people like
- Ability to meet personal goals
- Feeling of personal appreciation
- Supportive environment
Simple work nothing too complicated
Team Member (Current Employee) - Manhattan, NY - February 12, 2022
They just don’t pay enough for all that they really ask . And you won’t get a raise unless idk because I never got one . I think the company is still confused on how to run . They (management) doesn’t know how to assess situation correctly . Some stores are like high school and hostile .
Pros
Nothing, easy “money”
Cons
No free lunch pay for your own lunch, short hours

Great management and supportive environment
Porter/Dishwasher (Former Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - October 23, 2021
The job is easy and pretty routine. You know what to expect each workday. The pay isn't all that but the management and work environment sorta offsets the financial side of things. Pour soup in a cup and clean dishes, easy money.
Pros
Easy work, good management.
Cons
Not enough hours

Lack of hours
Team Member (Former Employee) - New York, NY - September 16, 2021
Needed more hours. Job just got hectic at certain times but being stuck in such a small location meant that we didn’t need as much employees so once the hype calmed down we got sent home. Only certain people got to stay and keep their hours

Hale and Hearty is a great experience for those who want to know about restaurant business.
Cashier (Former Employee) - New York, NY - December 1, 2020
I worked at Hale and Hearty in 2009 and worked with them until 2012. The people I worked with were a great team. I started as a server then moved up to cashier. I also moved around to other locations which I loved. I met other Hale workers and it was great! I kept contact with some of the team. I would recommend Hale for those who are serious about learning. I had encountered many who didn't take their job serous and important. I was in college at the same time during Hale. So you may ask why I left? I graduated college and continued to a different career. So If you want to work for Hale I say it's a GO!!! I had great managers and great Co-workers. I miss them all!
Pros
Discounts on meals, Great team
Cons
No benefits

Cashier & Prep (Former Employee) - New York, NY - November 25, 2020
I Love Hale & Hearty! They're one of the best work environments I've been in. HR, Managers, Coworkers and even customers are all mostly lovely. I would work there again.
Pros

Cons
Barely any real benefits

Excellent training and management
General Training Manager (Former Employee) - New York, NY - October 15, 2020
Fast paced and fun. I learned how to prep food how to manage team members, control costs, schedule shifts and so much more. As long as you are dedicated dependable and hard working, here the possibilities are endless. The culture is professional, respectable and lots of fun. The hardest part of the job is the learning curve when handling a fast paced situation but once you get the hang of it its wonderful and the staff is supportive and encouraging. The most enjoyable part is the recognition you get from your guests and management team for a job well done!
Pros
quality products and working in teams
Cons
They dont have any its a great company

I adapt really well to any type of situation, so i don't mind working in this environment, but it can be a bit difficult because theres just a lot going on and a bit understaffed.
