I honestly have to say in my honest opinion no accusations nor pointing fingers at anyone for something small the work place is hostile environment management needs to be at the locations for 24 hrs a day even for at night time seeing whose at work or not doesn’t matter of accusations that where made towards me and my fellow co workers and it’s unacceptable. Let me be frank about this I gotten accused of clocking in from home which I didn’t do and management needs to give a veiled explanation for letting a hard worker who needs the support or benefits and the lying at this establishment needs to stop
Pros
Nothing about this job is great
Cons
Horrible pay Isn’t worth it, no breaks, lying about yearly bonus

When I first started it was a good job but then they started bringing in OOA drivers and my hours started falling. This company promises things then does not deliver on the promises.

The title says it all, unless you are the inner clique like many of the hold overs from the Renzenberger days, ie general managers and the like.
Drivers are treated like dime a dozen trash, and paid like indentured servants.

dishonest hiring policies. vague description of job until to late. lousy pay to be on call 24hrs a day but only get paid while actually driving. Expected to never rest or sleep even though they say you are allowed. When you do they threaten you or call you and try to get you to drive anyway. I was lied to about being allowed days off. (was told i get none but found out i was entitled by union contract two) very few runs (only 3 or for hours each a day sometime less) after i was on call for twenty hours but only drove 4 they called me for a run to ohio at 1am to 5 am. when i told them i was to tired to drive now i was fired.
Pros
none
Cons
the whole job and supervision

You're on call 24/7. Don't know when to sleep. The board of driver's is ran very poorly! Went from getting almost 60 hours per week to 20 or less per week. Needed money for bills and couldn't make ends meet when the hours dropped out of nowhere. No time for family and only make minimum wage. Railroad crews are mostly friendly and helpful when you're first starting. Dozed off while driving.
Cons
No sleep

The regional manager is a joke. He makes up lies to take up for site manager and when you can prove him wrong he says he has nothing to prove. They don't give raises and don't care who they hire.
Pros
Railroaders are amazing to deal with
Cons
Management is horriblethey dont work with their people dont answer phone calls nor. Emails.

This company is extremely demeaning and hostile to their employees. For all their expectations of the employee, the compensation is far from adequate. 38 years ago I was a jail guard and a Deputy Sheriff. That job was less stressful than working for Hallcon.
Pros
There's no such thing as a free lunch.
Cons
No breaks, no healthcare packages other than basic, and the amount you pay for a premium isn't worth the benefit you receive from the policy.

Never let you enjoy completely your days off. They always try to you don't make overtime. Most of the travels are during night and never give you enough time to rest and recover well. This is a job for retired people and a waste of time.

If you want a job that pays very little, and has unpredictable hours each week, as well as, driving in all types of weather with a crew of passengers that are disrespectful most times, then this job is for you !
Pros
If you enjoy driving, then this job will provide a lot of it
Cons
Low pay, on call, unpredictable hours. No benefits and useless union

Our rate of pay is above minimum wage. Upon hire it is explained that the job is on call based on the driver making themselves available on the system.

Very unpredictable like.no possible way to have a life outside of work...and it's sad to say the money you make isn't worth the stress...but if you need money something to just get you buy then it works...l guess things could be worse.

You get your jobs by dispatch and they do not know what your doing after they sent you a trip and call you during the trip your on three times more and ask if you want to take a trip. No one knows what is going on. Management is unprofessional. All the vans break down during your trip, they do not have fuel cards while you are on a trip you have to meet someone to fill your tank. Dispatch and Management calls you all day during your days off and do not give you trips on your regular scheduled days. Scheduling is chaotic.
Pros
flexible hours
Cons
poor scheduling and management
