Low pay, no appreciation from above, not enough hours to properly do what’s required
Retail Merchandiser (Current Employee) – Portland, OR – June 15, 2019
The pros: Hallmark is a well known and respected name They pay on time They pay time and mileage when traveling between accounts Somewhat flexible schedule within required visit frequency
The cons: Never enough time allotted to complete required tasks Low pay No chance for advancement (it’s part of the employment agreement that there’s no upward path for this position) Management will always look for anything at all to nitpick about and will rarely compliment (or even acknowledge) what you’ve done right / well No benefits whatsoever (unless you choose to enroll and pay the entire cost of the terrible health care and dental plans offered to part timers) Frustrating order system that sends far more seasonal product than the stores can sell, resulting in the discard of literally thousands of cards during season changeover (I threw in the garbage over 7500 cards after Christmas from just one of my seven accounts) Your boss, the Territory Supervisor, is part time as well and can be difficult to reach They’re always asking for more while cutting allotted budget hours

Very flexible hours. Works with your personal schedule. Lots of traveling as you visit different stores and location. Does reimburse for mileage over 30 miles and drive time over 30 minutes as well as any tolls.
