Housekeeper in San Francisco, CA
on January 13, 2022
You would experience cleaning some dirtiest place you’ve ever seen but the working hours is not enough. Just do what you can within the booking time.. Management is terrible, it’s hard to communicate with them. They only listened to their clients, they don’t care about the housekeeper. Sometimes you Don’t get paid even the client canceled within 30 minutes, sometimes they would charge you even you’re not the one who canceled the appointment

This company really does suck, no help what so ever for pros completing the jobs and all the jobs are super low paying. I would never recommend this company to anyone
Home Cleaner in Austin, TX
on January 2, 2022
As a home cleaner I take a lot of pride in my work. I love cleaning and love making my clients happy. With Handy you end up hating what you do. They don’t give you enough time to clean a house properly. 2 hrs for a 4 bedroom 3 bath large home to clean top to bottom with extras is not enough time. I always end up checking out and staying a bit later for the customer to make sure it’s all done. But only if I don’t have another job scheduled right after. People appreciate that. The timing is bad. There is also absolutely no human support. No one to call abs talk to when you have an issue. Just an email address. So if you have a problem you email and then wait. They don’t always respond quickly. You have no idea what you’re getting into cleaning wise. You can walk into the biggest most disgusting home or apt and expected to clean in 2-3 hrs. I walked into a hoarders home once and was shocked. Thousands of flies and feces on the floor. Garbage everywhere. Impossible to clean. Pay could be better and sometimes they drop your rate depending on what the median is. So you could be making $22 an hour. Then out of nowhere drop to $16. It’s crazy. No matter how high your rating was.
Independent Contractor in Springfield, IL

I worked for them for over a year. The job descriptions are terrible. You are always sent alone to jobs that require two people. Almost impossible to get extra time approved. They charge the customers an outrageous amount and pay you almost nothing. The only way to contact them is through email and if you are lucky, the person responding may have actually understood your very plain English but most of the time they totally misread anything that I emailed them about and I would just get a stock response. The late fees and cancellation fees are outrageous and I know when I did do some cleaning, you were way underpaid no matter what they said was the going rate in my area. The only upside was I had very good customers.

They charge the customer triple what they pay you as a contractor here. They make it impossible to actually talk to your customer about what they need. They charge you huge fees if you cancel jobs. They screw over customers and contractors. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!
