unethical and illegal practices in HR and upper-management
*Upper managment position (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNSeptember 9, 2018
Loved the job and work very much, some of the staff in HR and management need to be reassigned to other areas or simply let go due to incompetence as they are not qualified nor are they unbiased when making managerial decisions pertaining to promotions, pay and over all fairness. Many issues with pay and illegal practices that I will not participate and can not to over look due to possible legal implications and personal ethics. Recruiters are rude and not personable, many good candidates are over looked and sub par candidates get hired because the salary and hourly recruiters are unable to effectively and objectively screen candidates properly. Hankook has a ton of growing pains to overcome.
Pros
Great benefits and decent pay
Cons
Hard work goes unappreciated, no advancment unless you make friends with certain individuals.

Facilities Manager (Current Employee) –  Nashville, TNAugust 12, 2018
This is a great company to gain experience in the Corporate and manufacturing world. Great management, and some pretty great co-workers as well. The language barriers can be frustrating at times to work through, but everyone tends to work through them.

Not For Everyone
NMP Technician/ IT Helpdesk (Former Employee) –  Clarksville, TNJuly 25, 2018
Keep in mind over qualified for position

BAD:
Micromanagement in all departments
Punished for doing completing task too efficiently
Busy work for the sake of looking busy
When addressing possible changes to streamline day to day tasks or an upcoming project, immediately dismissed because of position or age and wasn't even given consideration.
12hr shift work
Promotion not considered even with open positions available.
HR intro briefings state 6mo raises when time comes "at pay cap"
Nearly impossible to take PTO even when days available.

GOOD:
Split schedule which gives set schedule of days on and days off for easy planning
Culturally diverse
Pros
Culturally diverse

Productive and fun workplace with no ping pong
Operator/Laborer (Former Employee) –  Clarksville, TNJune 17, 2018
Fast-paced but reasonably easy going work environment. You have a job and as long as it gets done properly no one hassles you. Can be some frustration with the language barrier with Korean staff members but they do their best to understand at least basic English. They're wonderful folks, of course. A very safe environment as well. Always the risk of injury if you're being inattentive or just plain foolish, but they take safety precautions very seriously.

Typical Factory Work Environment.
employee (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNMay 18, 2018
This is a typical factory work environment. Some people have work harder to pick up the slack of others. Keep to yourself work hard and avoid typical gossip from typical factory workers and you will do fine. Great place to work but it is not for everyone.
The best thing they have to offer is that you get 14 days off a month but are still working 42 hours a week. Overtime is usually available if you want it.

Operator/Trainer/Fork Lift Operator (Former Employee) –  Clarksville, TNMay 14, 2018
May get better as time goes by. Atmosphere experienced while employed there was not positive for many workers. Causing negative attitudes and just showing up for a paycheck mentality.
Pros
Can be a good place to work
Cons
thought training and process info could be better

Pay low for some. Poorly governed
Assistant banbury operator/material handler (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNMarch 28, 2018
Hankook pay is unfair. Some people make 16 right out of the gate with no background in manufacturing or even real work experience at all. There are people who have 10 plus years in the tire industry and 20 in manufacturing as a whole who make 12 to 13 dollars an hour and are solid important employees whom of which are looking to leave so the turnover is high. The h.r. department is terrible with fairness with pay and just lies and pushes you out the door to humor you. There isn't even such a simple process as seniority. L.G. will be gaining many when they open soon. The rules and policies are all over the place which is a shame. I personally like my job and travel a long way to work but will have to leave soon as I was lied to as many were about correcting the money for experienced workers and 12 dollars does not effectively feed our families.
Pros

Network Operator (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNMarch 2, 2018
A typical day at work includes poor morale and leadership.
Korean American Culture Clash is a very big obstacle to overcome. Grey Areas in Conflict Resolution and Workplace Solutions. The best part of the job is that benefits start after your first 30 days, and uniforms are provided.

A company controlled by a small number of hands
System Programmer Specialist (Former Employee) –  Nashville, TNFebruary 5, 2018
This company is Korean company. The company has factories and branch offices in many countries. However, they disregard the traditional Korean traits and lifestyle that each country has, and insist on being only Korean. Moreover, the reckless behavior of neglecting tradition is causing employees to lose their disappointment and reputations.

The Plant has a long way to go before success
Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNJanuary 30, 2018
Being such a new Plant it has its issues. Management wants you to do your respected job but it's tough when the machines aren't running up to part. And a lot of people are getting underpaid and are doing the same type of job as their coworker.
Pros
Days off
Cons
Competitive pay
