The most useful review selected by IndeedThe staff are compassionate and good to the residents. The owners - not so much. You can’t run a skilled facility with the bare minimum or less. It just doesn’t work.

The building is warm and friendly; I love the people I work with! The residents are the best around also!!
Employee (Current Employee) - Hanover, PA - February 27, 2023
Healthcare continues to be a challenge with the regulations and lack of resources (ie, people). However, working in a stressful environment with a great team makes all the difference in the world!
Pros
close to home; friendly atmosphere
Cons
overall industry comes with high levels of stress

Jobs at Hanover Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation
Short Staffed, Low Pay.
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - February 22, 2023
Working here was often stressful, working short staffed. Some of the other CNAs had been moved to other floors due to work place incivility and bullying instead of being fired. Very low pay for the vital roll you play in maintaining the well-being and safety of the residents. Didn't feel appreciated by management.
Pros
Clean, well-maintained environment.
Cons
Low Pay, Negligible pay increases, short staffed.

Dietary Aide, Evening Cook Supervisor (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - January 20, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Well when I started there I love the hours I love working with the people and I really like the job a lot What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Having to get paperwork done for everyone and having to cook and tea stuff for the clients with a little bit of time that was hard to do What is the work environment and culture like at the company? In the beginning I'd go in and just work as a regu)]worker and then they treat me on all positions and I worked in the office and worked with clients or residents and towards the end then I was working a lot of hours with no staff and supervising and that was just too much then What is a typical day like for you at the company? We go in get my meal done set up that steam tables go in the office work on tickets for the night and the next day help the other crew members and supervise over them serve out the meal take a break and I have to work on all PM's trash make sure everything was done in the evening and then going to the dish room and then go home

Job was OK but nobody works and you work all day long, nobody shows up to work and this place is almost always short staffed everyday of the week. Residents are nice.

Pros/ cons
CNA (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - March 23, 2020
Pros- exellent residents
Cons- false accusations, management is always defensive. Not paid enough and always short staffed. Don’t receive a pay raise after working for 6 months. I was there for just under a year and only made 11.82.

Registered Nurse
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - March 4, 2020
Management changes your schedule to fit their personal needs. head of nursing department talks about her staff’s personal concerns to other staff; is untrustworthy and power hungry

I enjoy the positive work environment
RN (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - January 7, 2020
Although Hanover Hall may be old and not the prettiest facility, I have truly enjoyed working here. Good retention, great management, good benefits. Pay rate is a little lower but other benefits make up for it.

Not recommended
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - November 4, 2019
Loved working with residents just wish the people that are higher up would offer help and not look down on the CNA’s. Under paid and under appreciated

Great team leaders starting from the top
Certified Nursing assistant (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - September 2, 2019
It was a good place to work. Its healthcare so times can be difficult. At times we were short staffed but that is in all healthcare facilities. They fixed it by bringing in new students. All the employees worked hard together to make the residents as comfortable as possible. Loved working overnights.

Great nursing experience
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Current Employee) - Hanover, PA - October 2, 2018
The rehab facility offers many needs towards residents . facility is short on aids and the teamwork is different floor to floor or shift to shift. They do listen to how aids feel and include all staff in meeting when it comes to employees and caring for the reaidents.
Pros
PTO once applicable
Cons
Short staffed; low pay rates

Excellent place of employment
ACTIVITIES AIDE (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - March 28, 2018
Although I did not work here for very long, I loved it. Just as any other work place, it had its challenges but the work was always rewarded. I loved working hands on with the residents, planning activities and participating with them. The job was extremely rewarding and I enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was welcoming, as were the residents. I enjoyed how coworkers were like a family.

Nurse
LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) (Former Employee) - Hanover, PA - March 1, 2018
I will say that the nurses I have worked with really care about their patients. They go beyond just being a nurse willing to do more than their job they help the nurse assistants as much as they can. A lot of the nurses here are experienced and have been here for a number of years. If your interested in working here I would say "teamwork" is important. Nurses could not do their job without nurse assistants. However nurse assistants it's not just about doing patient care but also helping the nurses when asked to do something. The nurse's job itself is stressful and sometimes situations arise whether taking vitals, giving food to a diabetic for a low sugar, or transferring a patient when admitted etc. Nurses need aides willing to help during emergencies and when asked. Aides are our eyes and ears they can report things to the nurses. If you want to work in the health field. I would saying being in this field is hard work and can be stressful not everyone can do this type of job. But if you want to do this job I would say respecting each other, listening to each other, and working as a team is important to get the job done and give the best care to the patients.
