Not a good place to work and they abuse their staff. I loved the children but hated the environment. It was too stressful working there. Management is very poor and unacceptable. I obtained a BA and a MA while working there and HR wouldn't even give me a raise.
Mental Health Technician (Current Employee) – Portsmouth, VA – November 2, 2016
A typical day at work is assisting students in the class room and redirecting behaviors and assisting the teacher. I have learned that sometimes helping other can be hard and enjoyable. Management do not care about their employees. My co-workers sometime are to friendly with the individual and do not provide structure making my job harder because I go by the book. The hardest part of my job is seeing the individuals who do not want the help and do not take treatment seriously. The most enjoyable part about my job is helping individual to make better choices and each a goal.
