Good company to work for
Mechanical Engineering Intern (Former Employee) - Johns Creek, GA - January 23, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI enjoyed my internship at Hargrove. I was able to get exposure and even do some meaningful design work. Personally didn’t like the office, dark and dreary. My direct manager wasn’t the best but overall I felt like I could go to anyone for help or to get work from. Everyone in the office was friendly and willing to teach if you were willing to learn.

Lacking benefits
Engineer (Current Employee) - USA - September 20, 2022
Nice environment with nice people like in most places. Salary disparity and huge gap to market value salary for current employess is increasing the turnover rate. Few vacation days. No sick days.

On-Site Technical Services Review
E&I Designer (Current Employee) - Baton Rouge, LA - August 20, 2022
Hired on directly at a client’s site and the onboarding process stopped there. It took a while to get used of their systems, but once I got the hang of them it was easy. Overall good company to work for. As an on-site technical services employee, you don’t have too much contact with supervision at Hargrove due to reporting to client sites supervision.

Competitive Pay and good Commission Structure
Recruiting Specialist (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - August 19, 2022
The commission structure was excellent. Very supportive team and manager. Tough to fill a lot of roles and many of the sales managers are disorganized and/or rely too heavily on recruiters to open/close requisitions.

Family oriented work place.
Mechanical/Piping Designer (Current Employee) - Mississippi - August 12, 2022
From the interview on I felt like I was part of a family. They believe in helping you further your future. They treat their employees as individuals not numbers.

Project position
Independent Contractor (Current Employee) - Texas - July 23, 2022
After excepting the position leaving my other company. I was informed the job was for a “project” that is one year in duration. EXTREMELY upset! Insurance is terrible and zero 401k benefits.

Horrible experience
Accounting Administrator (Former Employee) - Mobile, AL - April 16, 2022
The department I was in I thought was fantastic till after actually settling and getting my foot in the door, I came to realize everything that was discussed in the interview was only what I wanted to hear and when it came time for them to commit to their promises, I was told they would no longer be able to go through! Also I was told they were flexible with schedule and they were not flexible at all!

Jobs at Hargrove Engineers + Constructors
Unfortunately, not a good work environment
Procurement (Former Employee) - Mobile, AL - March 24, 2022
The company preaches a one team motto when actuality, nobody pulls in the same direction. Everyone only looks out for themselves and is quick to blame you if anything goes wrong to protect their job. My department director was hands off and my manger only looked out for himself and a couple other people in the department. Favorites were established and given all the consistent work. There was 0 effective communication when covid hit. The salary/benefits are not up to industry standards. If you enjoy being a cheerleader for a company or trying to fit in a clique, this place is for you.

4-10 workdays are a huge plus
Civil/Structural Designer (Current Employee) - Mobile, AL - February 22, 2022
Very welcoming when I first started. Management is very helpful and everyone is assigned a mentor when they first start. Overall a very good place to work with a good life-work balance and very friendly people to help you out with any questions you may have.

Great place to work
Control Systems Designer (Former Employee) - Baton Rouge, LA - November 27, 2021
Team players! Great place to work. Hargrove strives to gain confidence of clients and allows employees to do their work, without being micromanaged. Great place to work!
Pros
Work without being micromanaged
Cons
Small engineering projects

Great culture for all experience levels
Senior Project Manager (Current Employee) - Johns Creek, GA - September 1, 2021
Plan on hard work and being recognized for it. Culturally diverse. Generally young leadership. Company employees are teammates. Collaborative work environment. They do big, small projects band everything in between.
Pros
Collaboration between offices
Cons
occasionally short on resources, but leverage it to HVEC

Really great team, but job can be monotonous
Engineering Intern/Co-op (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - April 19, 2021
I worked as an engineering intern. Absolutely loved everyone on the team. But the work can be repetitive. For interns, it is mostly working on CAD drawings. Some weeks are busier than others. Some weeks there isn't a lot of work (which can lead to OH costs). And they don't encourage that. They do lots of great work there! When new projects come in it is exciting.
Pros
Lots of free food, great people, wonderful location, lots of different projects
Cons
Work can be repetitive, might be stuck in a role for a long time before moving up

Onboarding Process Lacked - Rest Was Good
BASF Project Engineer (Former Employee) - Freeport, TX - March 4, 2021
I worked as a nested contractor for BASF as a Hargrove employee. I got my review with Hargrove at BASF's request from a personal referral. The hiring process was quick. But once I was on board, information regarding basics such as time-sheet keeping was hard to get. It took me months to get all the answers I needed. Once I was settled, Hargrove was supportive when needed. The Hargrove staff was encouraging and accommodating. My bosses were very understanding and supportive when I needed time off for family issues, or health concerns.
Pros
Free Lunches Once Per Month, Holiday Gift Card
Cons
Onboarding Process Was Confusing Instead of Straightforward

you are working for a large company that cares more for its image than it's employees. You are a number on a tally sheet
Systems Engineer (Former Employee) - Baton Rouge, LA - February 23, 2021
as long as you can be there and billable 100% of the time you are ok, but the minute it slows down or you get sick, you are terminated. Hargrove will push you to work extra but they are very reluctant to pay overtime and if you have any non-billable time.

Great place to work. Excellent pay, and great work/life balance
Material Coordinator (Former Employee) - Pascagoula, MS - February 12, 2021
I worked mostly at a client's site, but was based out of the Mobile, AL office, where I would occasionally attend meetings. I have nothing but great things to say about this company. The pay and benefits were very generous, and everyone from the president down seemed to genuinely care about my success with the company. Covid caused the client to eliminate my particular position, but I look forward to hopefully work here again.
Pros
Great pay and work life balance, management is top notch

Great company in volatile industry
Mechanical Engineer (Former Employee) - Mobile, AL - February 11, 2021
The people at Hargrove work hard and most seem to love their jobs. Also, the workplace culture is second to none and the environment is relaxed but busy. The Mobile office is in a prime location downtown which makes getting breakfast/lunch easy and puts you in the middle of all of the events that take place (Mardi Gras, Senior Bowl, miscellaneous conferences, etc).
Pros
Above-average compensation/Below average health and 401k benefits/People/Workplace Culture
Cons
Lack of work due to undiversified client portfolio leads to mass layoffs

However, management does not follow through on employee’s desire for advancement with more work.
Drafter (Former Employee) - Baton Rouge, LA - November 11, 2020
Employees have been told that they will have enough work to keep them and then find out that they are on lost for furlough without notification. Computer turns off while they are working and they find out they are on furlough. The business will look out for themselves as expected any business to do, however they claim to not per “one team” slogan. Managers do not follow back on action items and team reviews where employee seeks possibilities for expansion of knowledge and capabilities.
Pros
Pto, Paid Holidays, Average Pay
Cons
Unreliable, indecisive, cliques

Good People, Good Culture
Mechanical/Piping Technical Specialist II (Current Employee) - Mobile, AL - August 15, 2020
They appreciate their Employees and try to hold on to them even through the tough times, not a shop. they have been very good to me, always have my back and have treated me well. A culture of knowing it's the employees that make the company trusted and respected by clients and competitors.
Pros
Respect and trust
Cons
Manhours and quality expectations sometimes do not coincide.
