Great Management
Customer Service Manager (Current Employee) –  Totowa, NJJanuary 16, 2018
Great place work. Pay is low though. Management is very fair. Hardest part of the job is the lifting of up to 50 lbs and being on your feet all day. The most enjoyable part of this job is the people.
Pros
Flexible
Cons
Only Half hr breaks for Managers for a 8-9.5 hr day.

Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Port Jefferson Station, NYDecember 19, 2017
Typical day of work consisted of cashier and floor work. You would ring up customers if you were on the register and put out items from the back room if you were on the floor.

Store Associate (Former Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 12, 2017
There is no opportunity for growth at this company. Very disappointed, I must say. Some of the managers are not very pleasant to work with, therefore creating a very uneasy and uncomfortable work environment.
Pros
1 hour meal period.

Management is the a big problem
Cosmetician (Former Employee) –  Edgewater, NJOctober 3, 2017
I started a t harmon is everything was great! Once a new manager comes back it was bad. Every one was miserable and upset. The manager and asst. Manager play favorites. If you work hard they take advantage and not give you proper pay. They give you horrible hours or short you hours. If you address a managers about another employee he tells the employee and cause more problems. The managers and district manager have no respect on how they speak to you and how they approach you. The managers make everyone uncomfortable. Managers never have your side and belittle you in front of customers. No professionalism at all.
Pros
Holidays off
Cons
Favoritism, take advantage, not professional

Management was horrible.
Cashier (Former Employee) –  Rockaway, NJSeptember 26, 2017
Nepotism was huge at this store. If you didn't know the manager personally then you would get the worst hours if you even had any hours to begin with. Consistently being blamed for loss prevention goals not being met.

Wonderful people and was able to always keep busy
Cashier (Former Employee) –  Paramus, NJAugust 23, 2017
A typical day at Harmon's was a steady flow of being on the floor stocking and working as a cashier. I memorized all store product as well as placement. I helped customers with item information and check out handling the registers. I was responsible for asking customers to sign with our store's coupon account for the website and mail. Everyone who worked at Harmon's were extremely enjoyable to be around and always had a positive attitude. The hardest part of the job would be when a customer leaves unsatisfied from the store. The most enjoyable part of the job would be that I was able to use what I learned about the store products in my daily life as well as recommend products to others to enhance their lives.
Pros
able to use products in daily life and help others.
Cons
unsatisfied customers leave store.

You spend most of the day either working the cash register or stocking shelves or pulling overstock. You spend a lot of time on your feet, and only get a 10 minute or 30 minute break if you are over 18. The managers are not always professional, and every manager runs the store differently. Not a super interesting job, but is good if you need a summer or weekend job if you're in school.
Pros
20% discount on everything
Cons
Short breaks, inconsistent hours, poor management
