No job security. Micro management by CEO
Inpatient Detox and Substance Abuse RN (Former Employee) –  Estes Park, COFebruary 1, 2019
Harmony used to be a wonderful place to work, until management changed. Now it is all about the money. They write people up for ridiculous reasons in order to get rid of them so they don't have to pay unemployment. Fired me without warning or previous write up. Attempted to deny unemployment but was granted these benefits by the state after inquiry. Upper management took away ability for a GREAT nursing director to do her job. They even took away self scheduling and made employees use their vacation time if census was too low. Saw many people fired without good reason. I use to love Harmony. Not anymore.
Pros
Nice co workers
Cons
Terrible Upper management and HR. No job security.

Addiction medicine
Nurse practitioner, Addiction Medicine (Former Employee) –  Estes Park, COJanuary 20, 2019
Enjoyed working here. Love the executive staff, all the nurses and the other providers. Loved the clients, and the company's mission. Almost moved to Estes Park, but couldn't do it. The drive was too much everyday.
Pros
Love their mission
Cons
Too far of a drive, no accommodations for providers

I wouldn't wish this company for my worst enemy. Probably the worst place I have ever worked. The most enjoyable part was going home at the end of the day.

Excellent and caring staff. Dedication to meeting client and family needs. Management does appear to care about client sand staff though staff.
Mental Health Prifessional (Current Employee) –  Estes Park, COMay 18, 2018
Management is consistently challenged with budget issues related to being a not-profit company with having enough staff to handle the caseload offering good appropriate care that clients deserve without burning out employees . The ebb and flow of census impedes the amount of staff necessary to complete their job without working 10 to 12 hour shirts. This ultimately affect sclient because they could receive better care if staff had the time to get with they need in a quality manner. With that said, when the census is lower, staff can take time off yet it appears the census is higher more often and the staff feel over worked on a consistent basis.
Pros
Good, caring management always open to suggestions with a caring attitude..
Cons
Budgets constrained with the realities of life and the non-profit sector.

The Estes Park facility overall pay was structured to better compensate salesmen for new customers and not the professionals working there. At no time was the individual successes recognized.

Good benefits, great pay, but no room for advancement and harsh codes of conduct. Rewarding work, but can also be very stressful sometimes. HR is complete garbage.

There are many departments here and sometimes can feel segregation but there was often fun at the workplace. They tried to recognize good work.

All and all a great place to work.

Administrative Assistant (part-time) (Former Employee) –  Estes Park, COMarch 15, 2016
A typical day at work starts with checking the phone and email for messages, then forwarding them to the appropriate person. This was followed by unlocking specific doors and storage areas, then counting the cash. Greet clients and family members. Complete reports on clients. Complete and submit reports to the appropriate state agencies. Management was mostly unavailable; co-workers were nice and helpful. The hardest part of the job was anticipating what management wanted from us. The most enjoyable part of the job was the beautiful campus where we worked.
Pros
Reduced price meals, lovely country environment
Cons
Training for this position was incomplete

Fun place to volunteer with supportive management. The most enjoyable part of volunteering with Harmony Foundation is serving those in need, as well as working with colleagues with a heart to serve.

Harmony is for Discovery
Primary Counselor (Former Employee) –  Estes Park, COOctober 13, 2013
Harmony Foundation is a twelve step based 30 inpatient treatment center which uses the Minnesota Model. It has a Health Center for medical detox and any physical needs, and on staff Dr. for mental health issues. Harmony goes through steps 3-5 of the 12 step program while client is in treatment and also addresses clients spiritual needs. Harmony is tucked away in the Rocky Mountains and is a magical environment for those suffering with substance abuse to find recovery.

Potentially good place, but hindered by poor management.
Counselor (Former Employee) –  Estes Park, CoSeptember 15, 2013
Due to Hierarchical inconsistencies, this organization needs an overhauling and change. This is why I moved on from there. Historically, it has been a good company, but they were too focused on the bottom dollar.

Low pay, average benefits, lousy management.
Primary Counselor (Former Employee) –  Estes Park, COSeptember 14, 2012
Harmony used to be a wonderful place to work, until management changed. Now it is all about the money, they write people up for ridiculous reasons in order to get rid of them so they don't have to pay unemployment. They use unqualified people as counselors so they don't have to pay as much and the benefits are less than average. Pay rate is very low as compared to other treatment centers, people worked there because they loved the work and loved Harmony. Not anymore.
Pros
there are some good caring people working there.
Cons
unfair practices, don't treat employees well, and you have to pay for everything!
