It is hard to get out late in the afternoon. It would be helpful if we got in earlier and out earlier, especially for students who play sports after school and life father away.

If you were in charge, what would you do to make Hartford Public Schools a better place to work?
My first challenge would be to restructure and integrate Hartford Public Schools Staffing in order to create a ratio balance of black teachers to students. Ideally create a job position for a veteran educator and or administrator. Such requirements for this position would include: residence in Hartford a minimum of 5 yrs, at least 20 yrs teaching experience in CT Public School, and 15 reference letters from community members and employers. Job duties for this position are to ensure100 black highly qualified educators are hired and also retained over the next 5 years; Provide resources for these teachers; set up cultural diversity training for each teacher and school this educator teaches/“school based training for the new teacher and school staff.”
If I were in charge said benefits would include: full health benefits comparable to State of CT employees, PD training, full tuition reimbursement for educational advancement for teachers willing to sign a 10 year contract and commitment letter to Hartford Public Schools and or reimburse tuition upon resignation before ten years.
