A place for experience but nothing else
Team Lead (Former Employee) –  Troy, MIDecember 10, 2017
This company says they care about you while doing everything they can to indicate otherwise. They are not competitive in the American market as far as compensation, and raises are a joke. Speaking of jokes their HR department likes to refer you to the next person and so on and so forth until you have to escalate to a few ranks above to get an answer for anything. On boarding takes a minimum of three weeks. The internal website is barely functional and is embarrassing for a company that considers itself to be a technology company. If ever there was a hard way to do something they’re doing it.
Pros
Experience, insurance
Cons
Compensation, efficiency

I worked as a developer at HCL technologies full time (about 2 years). In HCL there are lots of initiatives to improve employees entrepreneur skills. HCL provides better role based trainings. Senior Management is highly supportive towards the employees.
Pros
Great colleagues and senior management. Most project are interesting with few exceptions.
Cons
Compensation, Promotion, Growth, HR Management sucks!

Company is totally behind in technology for themselves
Employee (Former Employee) –  Troy, MIDecember 5, 2017
The company is about technology, but operational software used is anything but up-to-date. Software is cumbersome and disjointed. It seems to take forever to get to anything you want within the intranet, with multiple clicks, pages and apps just to complete something as simple as entering time.

Company utilizes substandard overtime compensation practices. They force you to work overtime. Threaten termination if you refuse. Condescending, negative management structure.

Great place to start off in IT
Senior Analyst (Former Employee) –  Cary, NCNovember 28, 2017
The only issue geI had with HCL was it's compensation model. They rarely gave raises and when they did it was a slap in the face. Usually <$1.00 per hour raise annually. If you apply you need to negotiate going in at a higher salary.

It is a great place for women to work if they are starting out in technology.
Pros
great experience 401k matching, healthcare coverage
Cons
salary increases

Primarily India based culture pervades throughout the company. many contracts are serviced by HCL so there is always another job available if you want to move horizontally.

Game Certification Tester (Former Employee) –  Redmond, WANovember 19, 2017
The environment at HCL is toxic. You are escorted around everywhere and there is no trust. You have to ask to be let out of the testing area to get a drink of water or to use the bathroom. They treat you like a 4 year old and you are never guaranteed any hours.
The pay is minimum wage and you have no benefits. Unless you can't find a job anywhere else you should stay away. You will not further a career in the game industry by working at HCL.

L1 Analyst (Current Employee) –  sector 126 , NoidaNovember 19, 2017
HCL's work culture is as cool as it gets , everybody keeps it casual but there is also a sense of reponsibility in the policies that we have to follow. I learned a lot about a lot of different technologies such as Linux , Windows OS , VMWare and much more. The management is very down to earth and provide a personal sense of belonging.
The hardest part of the Job fo me is the salary which is in some cases much less than what the other companies are offering for the same amount of work.
The most enjoyable part of the job was by far the people I get to meet in this organisation.
