I was a contractor for HCL for 9 months, then I was converted to FTE with benefits and finally I was employed by their customer. I liked the job culture in HCL, I liked the work life balance they promote, the constant innovation and the encouraging of employees to participate or proposed new ideas. Unfortunately, I was assigned as a contractor for one of their customers and in my position I did not see any way to advance in my career, and payment was extremely low. I loved the free training opportunities that HCL gave me and their well-being program. I would have stayed at HCL kid they would have shown any interest in me, but when I resigned my position they just congratulated me and that was it. There were not any plans for me beyond cover a contractor position for a customer of them. If you want a nice place to start, HCL could be it, but thinking on the future, it would probably depend on what position you work for them, maybe software developers could have more opportunities to grow there.

Maybe ideal for someone right out of college

Not ideal for seasoned professionals; as, if you’re not employed at HCL headquarters and a ‘favorite’, you will likely run out of runway. Maybe ok for someone wanting to cut their teeth right after college.

HR is not visible and very hard to be contacted. They reply after 15 days most of the time never, regardless if ur TL is cc'd on the email, your TL will not help you put a follow-up. Most of the time clinic nurse is not available, been employed more than 8 months I still dont have my HMO card, It is just a front that they care PWD but truth is, they dont, had multiple sessions for counseling wherin the management hss gravely affected my mental health.

Unskilled, and pretentious people

Everyone there is full of themselves, to where huge mistakes came straight from superiors who had no business being in an IT position with no skills. They run call centers disguised as IT departments, and will take in any person who can open Microsoft Word on their own. Subject Matter Experts are usually less-informed than the people working beneath them, and get upset if you point out that they're wrong about something instead of helping find a different fix for an issue. HCL is a scummy company to work for, and will fire you because someone else berated you over the phone. Office politics run rampant in HCL as well, and keeping to yourself seems to be more difficult than its worth.
