What is HDR's sick leave policy? How many sick days are available to HDR employees in a year?
There is no provision for counting sick time at HDR. You have to use your PTO (paid time off, or in other words, your vacation time) to account for sick time away from work. This can get pretty lame if you have a procedure done at the hospital or have a cold/flu/etc.
Managers and supervisors need to look out for those under their supervision or team. For someone to feel loyalty to such a huge company (10,000 + employees), this is a must. When I worked at HDR, I felt that none of my supervisors "had my back" or would "go to bat" for me when I needed that. Others in my office, in the same department and in others felt the same about their management. At least one of them is already looking for another job. Take care of your people, and make them feel like more than a number.
Anyone know how long the hiring process takes? I recently went in for an internship review , and I'm curious when I will hear back and what the next steps are.

HDR does video interviews, meaning you create a video of yourself and submit it to the HR department.
Otherwise, I truly don't remember as I was employed with them for 17 years.
How does my B.S. degree in Environmental Science help me when looking for employment within HDR?
It will get you into the interview process. HDR does a lot of environmental design work so they will likely need people with this degree.
Depends on your job title. If it's a technical job, they expect at least a bachelors degree. If it's non-technical, I think you would need a high school education/GED and a good amount of experience in your field. Most people at my work location had completed college and some continuing education.
