Lufkin,TX clinic is an awful place to work
RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) –  Lufkin, TXOctober 10, 2018
The Director and receptionist are too close and have no professional boundaries. The Favoritism shown to the receptionist is unbelievable. It is very cut throat and if the receptionist doesn’t like you, you’re out. It is a very small clinic and every day is stressful due to this continuing situation. The patients even comment about the obvious favoritism.
Pros
The company is a good company to work for

Training
Program Director (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILSeptember 25, 2018
Training at this company is non-existent. All they tell you is, "It's on the Hub". They need to invest in field trainers in a number of different areas.

Does not value employees
Wound Care Nurse (Former Employee) –  KentuckySeptember 24, 2018
This company cares about making money and fulfilling Hospital contracts at the expense of their employees. They do not value their employees; therefore, they have constant turnover. We were pushed to see as many patients as possible during a work day and expected to give quality care in minimal time. Management will micromanage and employees are rarely praised for their efforts. Frequent over time and many days without a lunch. I would not recommend this company.

Too much of a grind
AREA VICE PRESIDENT (Current Employee) –  NortheastSeptember 21, 2018
Healogics is a great company and it really takes care of their employees but not the AVPs. They will work you like a dog then fire you. Most AVPS do not make a bonus. They make the territory too large. Too much responsibility is dropped on the AVP. Be prepared to work from 5am to 9pm everyday of the week and 4 hours on the weekend. Goals are too large and unrealistic to achieve. You are a salesman, coach, HR, compliance, finance, IT, operations, practice manager, and area manager.
Pros
Travel reward program points add up fast
Cons
Too much travel, no bonus, too much work dumped on

Career building environment
Office Manager (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCSeptember 18, 2018
Working with Healogics allowed me to build management skills providing me opportunities to take those traits and grow professionally. A very independent based company that allowed you opportunities to receive help and support from all management. In moments where my direct manager failed me I was always able to go to her manager for any additional support or clarification. Overall it was a great experience.

Terrible job
RN Case Manager (Former Employee) –  TexasSeptember 12, 2018
They care more about money than patient care. The doctor was a terrible wound care physician but thought he knew it all. The manager loved to give everyone else her job duties. They overschedule where you can’t provide quality patient care. It’s all about numbers!!!!
Pros
Monday thru Friday
Cons
Everything else

Company full of broken promises
Safety Director (Current Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLAugust 22, 2018
They interview for positions before there posted. They don't promote within. They promote who kisses up the most! Not by merit or loyalty and hard work. They put Program Directors in that don't have a clue about the medical field. HR is the worst! They don't give bonuses to the people who are doing all the work but they give them to the Program Directors who never come to work and go get there hair and nails done on company time. Everybody in corporate is in corporate LA LA land! They have no clue whats going on in the centers and they don't care. A lot of turn over and ironically same remarks all over the country and nobody in Corporate can see it or they just don't care to. Hope the new CEO makes changes for the better. But nobody is holding there breath.

Inpatient Program Manager (Current Employee) –  Lanham, MDAugust 20, 2018

Pros
You get to self teach and educate aspects of the job

Good company, but needs to focus on patient.
Wound Healing Center Staff (Former Employee) –  MidwestAugust 16, 2018
Excellent tools to do the job, track patients, and learn industry trends or new skills. But corporate level very focused on making money and "selling" to providers. Less focus on patient and relationship with hospital client. Not adapting to challenges facing providers.

Offer tuition reimbursement, but lock you into staying with company for 2 years after last class.

Flat hierarchy results in extremely limited upward movement.

most enjoyable part of the job
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Murphysboro, ILJuly 18, 2018
The most enjoyable part of my job at healogics when a patient would complete wound care treatment and have a healed wound. it is amazing what products are available to patients to heal them. Also when an hyperbaric patient would complete treatment and end with great results.

Hyperbaric Safety Director/LPN (Current Employee) –  Knoxville, TNJuly 18, 2018
Pretty good place to work although mediocrity seems to be allowed to flourish. With a lot of clinics around the country, it's nearly impossible for upper management to truly get a feel for the performance of middle management.
Pros
Set Schedule
Cons
Hard to take off with a small clinic

Great place to work !
Front Office Coordinator (Current Employee) –  FloridaJuly 12, 2018
Patient care is #1. Insurance verification and pre authorization is a must. For this position you have to be able to multi task. And have a good memory. When you think you can’t do something by a deadline, you have to be willing to try your hardest to finish. You need to do your job efficiently with a smile on your face. Reviews from our patients are the face of the company. Patients first always. You have to Be able to stop what your doing to help and patient.
Pros
They care about you. Room to learn & grow.
Cons
Lack of help and efficient system on the hospital side. EMR systems don’t talk to each other.

Favoritism is their mantra
Community Education Specialist (Former Employee) –  Manchester, CTJuly 2, 2018
Favoritism, cronyism, ageism and lying are all acceptable practices.
Marketing experience is not used as criteria for advancement - only butt kissing is. Unfortunately the clinical treatment for patients is long, but the company does not want nurses spending time with patients. Patients wait over 2 hours before being seen by a doctor and most refuse to return, which makes marketing to new referral sources almost impossible.

Autonomy
Cons
Favoritism

Poor management locally.
RN (Former Employee) –  OhioJune 29, 2018
Unfair management practices within local center. If not part of the circle of friends one should expect to be held to a differing set of standards. Initial training is rushed and inadequate, while ongoing training also needs improvement.
Pros
Pay and benefits
Cons

Clinical Coordinator (Current Employee) –  INMay 29, 2018
You are made to feel replaceable and no different than anyone else performing the same job. This company has a HIGH leadership turnover rate. The culture is toxic and the duties are always increasing. DO NOT WORK HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY.
Pros
Fast pace atmosphere and an abundance of wound management education
Cons
Poor advance leadership assistance and limited advancement opportunities
