LPN (Former Employee) – Oskaloosa, IA – June 29, 2018
I loved working with the clients at Heartland. If only they offered paid time off accruals I would have never left. The 12 hour shifts were difficult for me because I would get home and not see my toddler because he had gone to bed. Overall, a good company that takes care of their clients. I just wish they could have at least offered some type of pto accrual because I loved my job and client I was caring for.
COTA/L Home Health (Former Employee) – Roseville, MN – March 26, 2018
We didn't have enough patients to justify two COTAs. I was often asked to provide direct care IE: bath assistance etc. and not bill as a COTA/L. I would drive many miles a day and put on 40K miles in less than a year. Overall fun work but we were squeezed out by SNFs and Hospitals providing outpatient services. OTRs were more necessary for the work than COTA/Ls because of the assessments.
Every day was different. Sometimes I worked in the office and other days I went to clients homes and helped with special needs. I enjoyed working with the clients and also working in the office to keep up my bookkeeping skills. The hardest part of the job was paying for my own gas and making less money.
Had time off when needed and I had time with my family
No set hours and you worked at all times of the day.
