Embarrassed. I do not disclose that I had worked there, and do not add them to my resume for the same reason: company reputation is heavily negative due to very poor management, and employee morale. You only find this out, albeit in short order, after you begin working there, not before.

I would actually listen to what staff were saying, hear their concerns and address them as best as possible instead of listening to staff while they are speaking to you and then not doing anything about it or even making an attempt to do anything. I would show the staff they are valuable, appreciated and that without the staff the organization would not exist and be greatful for my staff and recognize their efforts and attempts. And make sure that their pay truly does reflect their skills and work. Pay would be merit based, not an across the board pay. Although you can not satisfy every employee every time, I would ensure that my employees knew that they were an asset to the company and just how valuable and appreciated they are. Afterall, without your staff who are you?
