While many employers conduct reference and background checks to make sure they are hiring good people, these checks are usually presented to the job seeker in an almost apologetic manner. Depends on management. For two year had a great GM and you enjoyed going to work. Then worked for 2 different GM's and it was the worst experience.

The salary was fair but the company doesn’t believe in paying for your experience...there’s no range in salaries. It’s once size fits all. The benefits are horrible and the company should compensate for that in their salary budget. I takes about a week to get hired on.
