Truly competitive pay. If someone is making 17-18/hour and coca cola offers them 23/hour Heidelberg should offer a raise to keep the said employee especially if the employee has been around for multiple years.
I would also hold the sales staff more accountable and not let them run rampant like a bunch of school children.
I would also focus on communication making it a top priority in the company. Set up a notification system that alerts anyone who needs to know of information. Pricing changes, call offs, changes in day to day operations, or just basic information that may not be passed around efficiently just by having it relayed through employee to employee.
