Difficult, dark and suppressing work environment
Paraprofessional (Former Employee) –  Helena, MTJuly 24, 2018
Absolute worst management of a large public institution. Be very cautious of notifying HR of any workplace issues. Past experiences show retaliation and termination among just a few of the consequences. There is a dysfunctional management hierarchy that is political and biased. Evaluations are not based on work performance, only by your willingness to kowtow to coworkers and management.

Waste of time
Paraprofessional (Former Employee) –  Helena, MTJune 14, 2018
I would not work for the school dist in Helena again due to poor management and hostile work environment. Coworkers would talk about other coworkers behind each other’s backs and in front of students. The management listens to others opinions of a person and has been known to fire on the spot.
Pros
Insurance
Cons
Low pay. Don’t always get your breaks

The focus should be on education.
Substitute/Guest Teacher Clerk (Former Employee) –  Helena, MTJanuary 12, 2018
Working in Human Resources was definitely overloaded with tasks and responsibilities that they did not have the team member quantity to match it. When I began working for them, they did not have anyone available to formally train me for the position. It was just too busy for all of the present employees.

Bus Driver (Former Employee) –  Helena, MTOctober 9, 2016
Typical day includes inspection of buses and driving routes in a timely manner.
I learned to manage middle school students on their way to and from school and to and from out of town events.
All the bus drivers here are very friendly and have great pride in their job.
The hardest part of the job is getting troubled students to behave.
The most enjoyable part of the job is the trips to events in other cities.

Substitute Teacher (Current Employee) –  Helena, MTSeptember 25, 2014
The life of a substitute teacher is a challenging one. One must be on their toes and be able to manage many different situations, people and environments that change daily.
