The culture is one of the best in the industry. Management truly cares about the employees. The compensation, benefits, PTO, etc. are very good. The flexible schedule is nice.

new managers not trained new employees not qualified for their job

to many turnovers long hitches not good pay compared to other companies. different rewarding system dependent on were your at. bosses not backing their people no bonuses

I don't have a lot to say, it was a great company, work was good, pay was good. The process to get hired was good. They take really good care of there employees.

Decent compensation with plenty of overtime.

No complaints about compensation or benefits. Although, at least in my district, there is a tendency for the office to continually add responsibilities. After awhile, work life starts to outweigh home life.

A good place to start out.

Decent pay and typical for a drilling company. Management is great in some areas and horrible in others. The benefits are good and they don't split your pay for the week.

Busy work , dirty jobs, most rigs are great with good atmosphere, most of the rig managers have been great ,could pay more but fair pay. Lots of travel required ,

Good company in a very cyclical business

H&P employees are expected to work hard and accomplish a lot. They don't offer much in the way of job related training and don't seem to want to. Management from department to department varies, some have very good, caring managers others not so much. In my five years, I never received a formal review and there was little coaching. The company is a good company, with outstanding benefits. However, they need to improve there management training to help strengthen and improve employees.

Hard work/ good pay

Good work and long hours. Good pay and benefits. Very safety oriented and has a good sense of standing that’s why their one do the better respected company’s out in the oilfield.

Productive, repetitive

If you aren't used to being away from your family on holidays and other important dates, this isn't for you..Hard on the body in some of the lower positions, but advancement opportunities are there if you learn quickly and work hard. You will learn a lot on the rig in many different disciplines.

Oil and Gas has it ups and downs.

Pay is typically above average but job security is below average due to the cyclical nature of the profession. If you can handle the cyclical nature of the industry is can be very rewarding.

Excellent management and workforce!

In my short time (less than 2 years), I learned to truly appreciate and love H&P. Their safety and culture was short of impressive. I have worked as a Drilling Sup on many other companies and their equipment and people don't even begin to compare. Unfortunately, COVID-19 decided to shut down the rig that I was on...

outstanding company to work for, enjoyed every second I was employed with H&P. Its hard work and long hours but you are paid well for the hours and the benefits outside of pay are top notch.

Work in the oilfield is always risky no fault of the company got recent lay offs best schedule two weeks on two weeks off you are paid your overtime however you don’t receive per diem at this company the Pat for west TX floorhands was 24.50 May have changed

I like the days off I work 2 weeks on and off I didn't need sick leave the pay was very good till got laid offI'm not working as of now but I've worked in the oil and gas industry for 19 years

Productive as long as oil prices are high

Great job great pay but job could be lost if oil prices go down. The company has a 401k with company match. The company offers Health and dental insurance.

Excellent Pay but no guarantee for job security

One of the best companies I have ever worked for. Learned a lot while at H&P. They pay very well and have excellent benefits. It was one of the best companies with no layoff history but in the past 5 years, oil and gas price volatility has affected the jobs too. Management took decisions without taking any feedback. The most enjoyable part is the technologies you get introduced to and you get to learn a lot. The hard part is you wont have a sense of belonging or get promoted unless you know people in upper management.

Productive, a great experience, great pay, great benefits, 2weeks off

All in All, a great company to work for, but they really need some kind of paid training program for new employees. Great pay, and benefits. The traveling was also a great experience. Wouldn't recommend it for a family man. Met a lot of good guys from all over.
