Help USA-Wards Island
Case Manager (Current Employee) –  New York, NYAugust 3, 2018
If it weren't for SOME of the employees I would've been gone a long time ago. Management is not supportive, they impose favoritism among case workers and treat the rest like you know what. No organization. No raises. No promotions. HR does nothing about anything, your complaints will fall on deaf ears.
Pros
Easy
Cons
Pay, staff support, no promotions

Management/HR worse than the clients
Case Manager (Former Employee) –  Mount Vernon, NYJuly 17, 2018
You are thrown to the wolves when you first start. Management uses company funding for personal purposes, never accessible & do no train/support you. HR doesn’t pay you for time off. HR is a joke, they do not have the employees best interest at heart. The job itself is doable, clients keep your day interesting but the work environment is not worth it. Management team needs to be revamped. The company name is false advertisement, the employees do what’s best for themselves, such a disservice to the community. STAY AWAY!
Pros
Rewarding field
Cons
Management “team”, salary, lack of support, benefits, HR “team”, the list goes on.

Security Trainer (Current Employee) –  Las Vegas, NVJuly 15, 2018
I have been working here for 5 years and it has treated me fairly well. I wouldnt count on any job advancements or pay raises at all. Surveillance and rounds is what kept the place going.

Good company, bad people
Shift Supervisor (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 29, 2018
Great place to work, most of the workers are cool. The ones with the power (ED, Assistants, Etc.) are usually the one that talk down to the workers and clients. They always talk about being professional but aren’t. They do not have the back of their workers, and don’t have equal benefits for all workers. Safety Monitors have the union benefits to protect them, while shift supervisors don’t get union benefits. A lot of weird things with the company. Clients have threatened the workers and nothing happens.
Pros
Not a very demanding job, plenty of down time, easy money, just basically have to be on time and do what’s asked of you.
Cons
Can get boring, very overwhelming if your new to the field.

Do not work here
Case Manager (Former Employee) –  Las Vegas, NVJune 19, 2018
This company lacks committment to it's employees. They do not give raises and I've had only 1 review. The corporate office is in New York and Las Vegas is their "red headed step child" so to speak. Not a good environment. Recommend not working there or getting out as soon as you obtain better employment.
Pros
All national holidays off, Summer hour are leaving 2 hours early on Fridays.
Cons
Poor Poor Management, No raises-this is companywide for the non executive/non exempt employees

Case Manager (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYMay 19, 2018
In the beginning it was wonderful, but as my Supervisor left the team began splitting up... That was the end of it.

The paperwork was the worst, then you had client's who would curse you out for them not getting their own way. The unit inspections...hmmmm.... lets say you would have to spray yourself down before leaving the facility.

Assistant Safety Monitor Supervisor (Current Employee) –  New York, NYApril 3, 2018
It is a great place to work, but you must have tough skin to deal with management. The clients come from all walks of life and they have stories to tell you.
You have to be a compassionate person to deal with the high homeless problem.
Pros
The flexablity
Cons
Too high of a price of medical benefits.

Not bad but not good
Assistant Property Manager (Current Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAFebruary 26, 2018
My experience wasn't great but it also wasn't awful. Workload was pretty mundane and it was inconsistent. Some days I would have nothing to do and others I would be so busy there would be no time to sit down. Training was not really provided and you had to learn as you went. Questions regarding getting a task done would go unanswered for days or not be addressed at all. Best bet for help was to network with people outside the company who had experience and was willing to share the knowledge with you.
Pros
Hour paid lunch, intereacting with a lot of different people, vacation, sick and personal days
Cons
Healthcare is not worth having, workload is inconsistent, a lot of interaction with different people, no security in bad neighborhood, no training

na (Former Employee) –  Mount Vernon, NYJanuary 17, 2018
When I first started working here, it was a great company. Over the years things changed, people changed. More concerned with meeting the numbers that in the level of service they were providing. Place became intolerable. Stressful, cutthroat, could not wait to leave.

Safety Monitor Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Bronx, NYDecember 25, 2017
Due to the lack of a professional management team in a fast paced work environment the operational workers suffered a lot of unnecessary stress with little to no support.
