Hendrickson was a very fun and nice place of business. The management team was good but it could have been a little bit better. I enjoyed working with the older crew than the younger because they played a lot.

Alright until you hurt yourself
Welder/Assembler (Former Employee) –  Lebanon, INJanuary 3, 2019
I worked for hendrickson for 7+ years, hurt my back while being forced to do repetitive tasks that were regarded as "unsafe", then got their backs turned on me when it was time to care for the injury.

Unless you want to be belittled on the daily, unrealistic expectations from your boss, hostile environment, no work culture, literally like the walking dead, stay away from this company.

Most co workers are friendly and easy going
Laborer (Former Employee) –  Canton, OHSeptember 18, 2018
You rotate assembly positions every 5 weeks so that you are able to perform all positions and it keeps you from getting bored.
the normal work week is Monday tho Friday with weekends being over time and optional
One of the hardest parts of the job was the fact that rules changed daily.
you only receive paid holidays and benefits if you are hired in at a full time position.
when you are placed as a temp. you have the impression that you will become full time.
Pros
Monday through Friday work schedule
Cons
you don't get credit for your work or perks unless you are full time

Poor management. Used to be highest paid factory in town. Now you can work at other places and make more money. They started a pay tier system that has screwed over everybody. If your a quality worker go somewhere else.

PACKER (Current Employee) –  Kendallville, INAugust 14, 2018
Toxic work environment, Management team believes they are better than everyone. Very hard to fix problems when no one takes consideration of individuals doing the job. Management relies too much on numbers and not experienced operators.
Pros
not many weekends worked, holidays off
Cons
militant management style, favortisim with employees, not willing to fix major issues on the floor

Excellent place to get experience. you learn a lot. a typical day starts with checking your yesterdays work. the manager makes sure you get enough work to keep you busy, i don't think you can ever get free time at work.
Pros
hard work, keep your busy

Packer (Current Employee) –  Kendallville, INApril 14, 2018
Fun place to work in 2013. Downhill since then. Poor management everywhere top to bottom. Favoritism is rampant and equal pay for equal work is nonexistent. Low starting wage takes ten years to get top pay. Turnover rate is ridiculous for a so called world class facility.
Pros
Good benefits and fairly easy work
Cons
Poor management. Stressful atmosphere

Assembly Line Leader (Former Employee) –  Clarksville, TNApril 6, 2018
Great company to work for. They are the undisputed leader of their industry so work is steady. Great culture. They allow music on the shop floor (reasonable volume and radio edited). Straight 8 shifts. NO MANDATORY OVERTIME. Instead, they choose to offer time and a half over 40 and double time over 50. 11 paid holidays a year. 2 weeks vacation per year (pro rated first year). 3 weeks after 5 years.
Pros
No mandatory overtime and straight shifts.
Cons
none.

I worked the paint line at Hendrickson. Not a bad place to work. I was temp, so I did not receive any benefits. So I wouldn't be able to discuss. Fairly easy and straight forward job.

PAINTER (Former Employee) –  Lebanon, INMarch 30, 2018
I worked there for over 5 years before I left. I need up coming back 2 years later and it has really taken a nose dive. Granted they are going through a lot of in house expansion an construction. So hopefully once thats all done it'll be back to being an great place to work at. even if the salary is low for the hard work that is required.
Pros
Great fair place to work.
Cons
Not enough pay and benefits for the work required.
