Dental Assistant (Current Employee) – Silver City, NM – June 19, 2018
A typical day is busy, New CEO that wants to change everything and some of it not for the better so it makes for not so good team morale. They do pay for some classes for example Coronal Polishing exam so that is a plus. I enjoy working 4 ten hour days.
Manager is on a power trip and seems to enjoy putting her employees down in front of other employees
Family Support (Former Employee) – New Mexico – September 24, 2018
CEO talks about how much he appreciates employees. Managers don t respect employees, treat them like children. Many disciplinary actions for things like speaking up in meetings, asking questions. These are called insubordination.
Dietitian (Former Employee) – Silver City, NM – August 7, 2018
The providers and support staff work well and collaboratively together. Patients receive great care and compassion. Upper management operates on a micro-management model. Employees have very little input into operations, suggested improvements or processes. If problems arise, they are investigated by management and the appropriate employee(s) will be blamed, written up, instead of using problems as a learning experience and teamwork for finding solutions. As one coworker told me when I first started, "It is a punitive environment". They were accurate.
generally a good place to work if small town life is for you
Dental Assistant (Current Employee) – Silver City, NM – April 15, 2018
Great hours, decent but not great pay, great dentists, high turnover of management, Very productive many patients are seen in one day. Employees are very patient focused. Very edifying there is more low cost health care needed out there then people realize. Many patients have multiple healthcare problems and need someone kind and caring, that's what we do as healthcare professionals and we can feel good about that.
comraderie, coworkers have your back generally when it comes to the patients.

Clerk (Current Employee) – New Mexico – July 31, 2017
It starts out okay but you learn quickly how people work. It's very clique-y. If you are not part of the cool kids, you will be treated unfairly. There is A LOT of drama and negativity, lack of communication and respect and most of all no room for success. Definitely not a good environment to be in.
POCT/LAB COORDINATOR (Current Employee) – Silver City, NM – April 21, 2014
HMS is a great company to work for. Most of the people you are surrounded by come to work with a positive attitude and are a pleasure to work with. Company management could use a little more work as there has been some issues come up in the past that could have been prevented. Unfortunately there isn't much room for advancement in this company. Also the pay isn't that great, but it is to be expected from a government funded facility.
