Terrible place to work. Avoid
Software Engineer (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 17, 2018
I would not recommend working here unless you have no other option. The environment is cliquey, noisey and pretty uncomfortable to work in. All development is micro-managed from above. Code reviews are mostly an excuse for petty stylistic opinions. Very little freedom. Not a place that encourages creativity.
Pros
The occasional free lunch, SOME co-workers are nice. The money helped some...
Cons
Cliquey & toxic work environment, Passive and not so passive aggressive bullying from co-workers, Repetitive dull work, No creative freedom

Hired and then laid off a month later in large scale company layoffs
Associate Producer (Former Employee) –  New York, NYMarch 22, 2017
Sinking ship, don't bother. Management is more or less clueless. The CEO is a ghost that nobody sees but somehow manages to make huge sweeping changes at a moments notice.

Choose wisely
Tech Director (Former Employee) –  New York, NYMarch 1, 2017
Executive leadership micromanages down to the smallest detail. There are plenty of strong, skilled individuals at the company but they are held back by poor decision-making and guidance from the top.

Overall High5games was a delight place to work at, being in the World Trade Center as well. Environment was very cozy and the teams were fun and always willing to help/assist one another.
Pros
The people, environment, events, free snacks, free coffee, free lunches once a month, the applications
Cons
Wifi connection was bad at times, people are let go throughout the year, decision making by the higher ups

Great place to work, best art department I've ever worked with!
Digital Illustrator (Former Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 28, 2015
Best job I've ever had. I was an illustrator here for almost 3 years and it was a great experience. A typical project could vary from realistic illustration work to cartoon styles to photo retouching and live action film work. The art department was great, team members were also awesome and supportive. The projects change very often which is nice because you get to work on something new every month, keeps things fresh. The only problem is upper management and their lack of vision. This place has some amazing talent in its creative department!

Good people, Poor Management, Terrible Future
Production Artist (Former Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 6, 2015
If you like living in the now with a sense of work-life balance and friendly coworkers, this place is for you. This place is also for you if you aren't afraid of losing your job at random because management spent their entire budget on worthless projects, which is commonplace.

With that said, the company is undoubtedly going under and it's a shame hard working people are let go at random. If not for the amazing co-workers, I would not recommend working here until management (including the CEO) get replaced.
Pros
Friendliest people in any office environment
Cons
The company is doomed and there's no job security.
