great job , but terrible management
BARISTA/SERVER (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAMay 10, 2018
management is horrible !

HR-they pretend to care , but they dont care. Always taking managers side, bathroom breaks are "expected" to be taken during breaks. HR makes acting leads so they can perform the duties of a manager while they dont do any of the work as well as keeping them in that role with no pay bump.
Pros

poor management

Great company to work for
Manager (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAApril 14, 2018
Upstanding company with great vision and values. Great balance of small family owned and larger corporate company. Allowed and valued individuals to contribute to the company growth. True industry leaders in airport concessions. Company values it’s emplyees, promoting many people internally which allows for individual career development and growth. Only main con was pay, they struggled to keep up with competition, especially considering cost of living in the area.

worst job ever
Bartender (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CANovember 18, 2017
This is the worst job i have ever had in my life. Management and human resources use psychological manipulation tactics such as fear to control employees. Micro managers will make your work life very uncomfortable. Human resources are lions in sheep clothing. Management usually does not follow rules or protocol but will continually write employees up. Favoritism was also a major issue. What you would think is a regular work day of 8 hours will actually be ten hours. This is because you have to park a few miles from the airport wait for a shuttle then go through security once there. Most miserable year of my life.
Pros
its a job
Cons
human resources, management, hours

High volume restaurant group
General Manager (Current Employee) –  SFOApril 13, 2017
Growing company with exceptional values and room for growth, High volume work place with great people; but easy to get lost in the shuffle if you are not vocal. Decent benefits. But the company does thrive to make the a strong knit community.

Stay away unless you know someone high up
Prep, cook (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAOctober 21, 2016
They partner up with famous local restaurants and then hire people whom they can manipulate to do their will. There is no room for growth unless you know or "get to know" a director or senior member of this company. Anyone with any ambition or talent is quickly dismissed. It's a do as I say not as I do type of work environment.
Pros
It's a job
Cons
Everything about a job that you would hate

Productive and demanding workplace
Cook, San Diego Airport (Current Employee) –  San Diego, CASeptember 12, 2015
Busy work environment with a hand full of cooperative co-workers. Management focused more in customer service than back of the house duties. Always took the initiative to get the task in hand done. Multi-tasking skills strongly improved and learned to be a fast efficient individual.
Pros
Hourly rate for amount of work demanded, free lunch
Cons
Management, work area

OK Job
Cashier (Current Employee) –  San Diego, CAMarch 13, 2015
Co-workers are awesome! though the management can use a huge upgrade. not very flexible in the sceduling, tho you can request days off 3 weeks in advance. The pay is the only thing making alot of people stay, otherwise they would leave to find a new job.
Pros
free lunches
Cons
no advancement at all, no raises, poor management
