I sent my resume through indeed on Wednesday. Got an email back inviting me to come in Mon-Fri between 2-4 to apply. I went in to apply the next day, Thursday. Was interviewed by 3 different managers on the spot! Interviewed with the regional manager via webcam the next day, Friday! Was offered the position Saturday!
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Hillstone Restaurant Group a better place to work?
Give out more positive feedback! And hire one person in the holiday season just to answer the phone.
The working hours are long, of course, but the earliest you have to be there is 10:30am and the restaurant closes at 11pm, so it's not like a bar that stays open until 4am. However, they are long hours that usually fly by and then you realize how drained you are.
What tips or advice would you give to someone interviewing at Hillstone Restaurant Group?
Be professional and smile to get the job. Prepare yourself for high stress situations and constant negative feedback. It gets better after you get used to the high stress system... if you can make it the first 6 months or so.
Constant turnover of staff and managers at my location makes it very difficult to be successful and work as a team
staff cant take time off because they are short staffed - for 6 months??? that is a management problem ..not an employee problem
the managers are not skilled leaders - some are fresh out of college with no leadership experience at all.
i asked 2 weeks in advance to leave early on my birthday. i was told no - its a friday night. I understood but i was also told to stock the supply room until 1:30 am that night. No regard for employees personal time. I will always pick up extra shifts when needed or asked - so some reciprocation would be expected
