Great overall
Account Manager (Current Employee) - Remote - November 17, 2023
Just started but the overall experience has been great. Loads of time for training, great team to work with and very friendly fun atmosphere. The job is very much on you so you get in what you put out which I can’t say for many company’s I worked for before.

What is the best part of working at the company? Actually there's nothing stressful when it's hot it's hot when it's cold it's cold what to expect out of a warehouse but it's an excellent place to work What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Everyone gets along with each other What is a typical day like for you at the company? A normal day when it's busy it's busy and it's not you stay busy

Toxic environment very bad decision making
Shipping and Receiving (Current Employee) - Lewisville, TX - June 27, 2023
Is a very toxic environment. The new management doesn't take employees feedback when making decisions that affect their work performance. The hiring process takes 6 months and sometimes they don't even offer you a permanent position unless you get lucky.
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
Work to life balance is non existent

I believe it truly sucks to work there or be part of the Hilti organization. Great products, lousy management. Enough said.
Store Representative (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - February 9, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Serving customers, asking questions and responding to questions are the best parts. Other than that there are no best parts of working at Hilti. The store I was at got tons of pallets of merchandise with no room to operate. They are the most disorganized operation for stocking products that I have ever seen. It is almost impossible to find items and/or stock items unless you have been there long enough to follow the haphazard location of items. Also, you have no privacy there. Management and sales reps are belittling. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? I just mentioned the most stressful parts of working at Hiti with the previous question. See question #2. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? See the answer to question number 2. It is not a good culture. The experience at Tulsa offices is horrible. What is a typical day like for you at the company? See answer to question number 2. I believe it says it all.

The right people in the right place.....unfortunately this is not the case
Team Leader (Former Employee) - Milan, MI - January 22, 2023
Nice company, excellent management but there are too many processes and too many people who don't have a work culture. This company thrives on 3 different realities: the sales force, logistics and the tool repair shop.....and not everything is always aligned
Pros
Free launchs, welfare
Cons
Low salaries and unattainable goals

A company trying to figure out how to manage a warehouse
Warehouse Supervisor (Former Employee) - Dallas, TX - November 19, 2022
A great company to work for if you are not in the warehousing side of the business. Great co-workers for the most part. Management is the issue. Warehouse manager is a stepping stone for corporate jobs. Most stay 1-2 years and are gone. Supervisor turnover is high due to burnout and frustration. Warehouse is too small. We ran out of capacity on a regular basis. Equipment is terrible. Not enough of it and what you have is constantly breaking down. Understaffing is a constant issue. The company does not have a standard way of receiving product. Many suppliers from all over the world creates multiple processes, paperwork, etc. Benefits are excellent. Pay is above average. Hours are long. Time off is the best I've seen at a company due to the company being European based.

You can earn more at a different company with the same benefits.
Pros: Coworkers are great people, corporate locations have full coffee bars (though not free). There is a lot of diversity in the company- Black/Latinx/LGBTQ+/Women-led Affinity groups. Global company means possible opportunities to work internationally. Cons: The monetary compensation has never been great for anyone in the North American part of the company. Many people have jumped ship since the pandemic began to wind down due to the company's strict rules about WFH and mandatory office days. They aren't backfilling a lot of positions due to a tight hiring budget, which leaves employees with a massive workload and no extra pay to show for it. There is an extremely overworked and falsely positive culture in the company. Lastly, getting a good manager is basically like roulette. Not all managers are held to very high standards or checked in on very often, so management quality is absolutely not consistent. This could very negatively impact your work ethic and burnout rate if you roll poorly and are stuck with a manager who doesn't take managing a team seriously.

Not a great environment
Warehouse worker (Former Employee) - Dayton, NJ - May 25, 2022
No room for advancement unless you have an irrelevant degree. Management will either exploit you, try to get with you, and if they can’t, target you Management - does not help resolve issues - they create more Time every movement you make and write you up if they dislike you/ will target you if they dislike you. So you always have to be on your toes. Don’t talk to any other employee about anything because they will run right back to management. You can trust no one who works there They don’t appreciate the good workers they have - they’d rather hire outsiders who have irrelevant experience then promote the amazing hard workers who are already employed there. Very unorganized and expect the lower level employees to run the show. Point fingers environment instead of take action and rectify. Their culture is meaningless.
Pros
Celebrate holidays with free lunches made by employees, providing catering during certain holidays .. Yearly small raises
Cons
Short breaks, long walks to each department, horrid management

Pricing Can Be A Deal Killer
Sales Representative (Current Employee) - West Coast - August 22, 2021
Compensation Package Not Good This Year. Promotions and Territory success is based on favoritism. Management approve account adjustments to make sure some AM’s are promoted to the next AM level at the end of each year. Hilti is different than it was several years ago. Bring back the 2019 Bonus Plan.
Pros
Company Vehicle
Cons
Price Can Be A Deal Breaker

Run
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - August 16, 2021
This company is a joke. Management will lie and steal to make themselves look good. They get bonuses when employees get promoted but they don’t care if you work hard.
Pros
None
Cons
Everything you can think of

Great products, tough bonuses!
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Dallas, TX - August 10, 2021
Good company, great products and solutions for construction customers. Recent pay changes make attaining bonuses a bit harder and possibly cause some turnover.
Pros
Best in class products.
Cons
Pricing can be a deal killer at times. Confusing pay and promotional criteria.

Good Place to Work
Account Manager (Current Employee) - Iowa City, IA - July 19, 2021
A solid company to work for with great benefits. Work life balance is very good here and can be flexible when things come up. Company likes to promote within, so a lot of opportunity to move into other roles if you're mobile.
Pros
Benefits, Work-Life Balance, Comp is decent
Cons
Tough to earn promotions

Fun but fast paced
Electrician (Former Employee) - Orlando, FL - July 11, 2021
It was fun while it lasted. Unfortunately with covid, no guest no work. Management was great in my dept. Was also fun seeing people get excited at something we look at everyday, reminder not to take what we have for granted. That's all I got to say about that.
Pros
Learn new skills from different departments, co workers can keep you motivated, director's can be fair
Cons
Extremely strict guidelines (understandable), some guest may have forgotten that we are people, pay can be alittle higher in some areas

Solid company
Account Manager II (Former Employee) - Jacksonville, FL - May 13, 2021
Company promotes from within. If you are willing to travel there are unlimited possibilities. During COVID they did not lay anyone off and ensured everyone received proper pay. Lots of training - takes about 2 years to become fully vested in training.
Pros
Great company with growth potential. Salary + Bonus structure
Cons
Lots of metrics to focus on

An amazing family culture
Product Manager (Former Employee) - Plano, TX - May 4, 2021
Hilti is an international company with a lot of ambition and successful strategies. Although they have been able to keep the family culture that makes you feel at home. The quality of its products makes it proud to work for.
Pros
The culture, the products
Cons
Salary, employee promotion

I love hilti and it’s people and hope I can return some day
Pros
