The overall culture with HME Specialists was a very stressful environment The management support was very poor. At first working at HME Specialists I did learn a lot, but the dynamics changed and employees were becoming very unhappy. The culture is so focused on making the patients happy, and left out making sure the employees are happy. When you have happy employees you have happy patients. It all starts with management. The hardest thing with the job is communication. Communication was all over the place nobody is ever on the same page. The support for success is not equal for everyone. It was just not a good place to work if you're expecting a positive working environment.
A typical day at work is beginning right at 8 am taking phone calls from patients who had been waiting on the phone for us to open so they can place their orders, and those are usually the better calls of the day because they are the happiest because they have their call answered right away and their order put in right away as well.
It was a great place when I first started, after new management was set into place, It became a very displeasing place to work daily. Several employees have left due to this change, very high turn over rate.
Great co-workers, Great patients and loved the fast pace workflow.
micro-managed, thrown on phones even if your not a phone person, then held accountable for not getting your work completed.
Horrible management. High turn over rate. Management needs H.R. to make them go to mandatory meetings on what's appropriate behavior. One supervisor in mind is extremely childish, rude and loves to pick on people for no reason.
CEO's are wonderful people and are very much involved with their company. I have learned allot in many departments of the company, which provided me with the experience and knowledge to grow in other areas of the health industry.
The downside of the company is some of their Management staff need extensive training on what is appropriate communication and treatment of their staff and other departments. The work enviroment in certain departments is very toxic, which would be another reason why there is a high turnaround in staff.
develop great freindships with other staff, opportunity to learn more about requirements from different billing entities
