One of the worst experiences I have had in the medical field.
Nurse (Former Employee) - Longview, TX - September 30, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWhat is the best part of working at the company? The Biweekly pay is a good benefit as most are 2x monthly. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? They do not value their employees. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? At the Longview location ridiculous. Everything is drama What is a typical day like for you at the company? Crazy, stressful, exhausting.

Misrepresentation of how job will be. Still a production line for profits rather than care
Therapist (Former Employee) - College Station, TX - September 26, 2023
You would hope that people working with a geriatric population (our grandparents, parents and other vulnerable elderly) would really care about the people they work with while maintaining an efficient business, and in spite of CMS/Medicare changes to be more patient oriented in recent years that companies would have changed significantly to comply with that, but this company still treats patients and staff as disposable and simply a means to gather profit as much as possible. This can lead to early discharges, unreported injuries from staff/company negligence discontinuity of care, not following plan of care etc. Our parents and grandparents deserve better.
Pros
A privilege to work with the patients
Cons
Poor administration, poor communication, focused on fee for service and profits as highest priority

Lack of recognition, favoritism, unhealthy communication, gossiping, and high turnover
CNA (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - September 1, 2023
The team you work with at Park Manor Southbelt is incredibly unsatisfied and impatient to be working at a place like this, which makes a regular day there pretty overwhelming. Additionally, a lot of the staff is lazy and gets away with it. I discovered that the opinions of the patients don't count, and that if you speak up for them, people would try to have you fired because they prefer the way things are done at the facility. Management fails to address the issue at hand and lets the charge nurses run off all the good aides. The working conditions at this facility are horrible. Sometimes, employees show up in non-uniform clothing. Employees exhibit poor behavior toward both patients and their coworkers. Poor communication is the worst aspect of the job because teams can never work properly without it. There is never enough supply for the patients, including bedding and towels. Going in there and attempting to assist the patients is what I enjoy most about my job because that is the reason we are actually there: to take care of them. They are incredibly kind and amusing people.
Pros
They cook for the staff once a month.
Cons
Can’t get no breaks and they overwork all the new staff members.

Don't fall for the hype
Nurse (Former Employee) - College Station, TX - May 14, 2023
There is a reason high hiring bonus is being offered. Staff does not last. The environment is negative. Not one single person working there is happy about being there. Management don't hold anyone accountable, including themselves. State is always in the building. IJs are handed out like an award there.

Schedule

Management Issues
Corporate (Former Employee) - Corporate - March 17, 2023
This company doesn’t care about the employees. They want more and more and do not want to compensate for the work. They expect you to work 24/7 but don’t offer anything in return. They demand you work on PTO and do not follow their own policies on reimbursement. I would never recommend this employer to anyone. The most stressful job I have had in my career. The things that go on and that are allowed to go on are outrageous.
Pros
None
Cons
Overworked, underpaid, degrading managers, poor work life balance

Rude Staff
Staffing Coordinator (Former Employee) - Humble,TX - February 27, 2023
Management is rude and unorganized. They expect you to work long hours and will chastise you if you speak up for yourself. The pay is horrible and we were always understaffed.

Unrealistic and Favoritism at it's best
LVN (Current Employee) - The Woodlands, TX - February 16, 2023
It all depends on who you know and what you are willing to accept and do. Different rules for different staff. Ones that are liked and go out drinking with them get a easier time of it.

A good company
Administrator (Former Employee) - DFW, TX - September 9, 2022
HMG has solid leadership and systems. The salary structure is excellent, likely the among the best in Texas for Administrators. The industry as a whole is very stressful, with a staffing crisis and an unpredictable regulatory environment.
Pros
Salary, stability, corporate support
Cons
Stressful environment, staffing challenges

One of the better skilled nursing/rehab facilities in the area.
Transportation Coordinator (Current Employee) - Conroe, TX - August 4, 2022
Given my current position and experiences, I have had the opportunity to visit most, if not all, of the other Skilled Nursing Facilities in the area. It is obvious upon entering these facilities where they are lacking. Park Manor Conroe has always tried to celebrate it's employees and create an atmosphere where families feel comfortable sending their loved ones. I have spent nearly 12 years with PMC and I am happy to be apart of such a great team.

Typical nursing home
LVN Charge Nurse (Current Employee) - Conroe, TX - August 4, 2022
Overwhelmed and disorganized. Need more nursing staff. CNA. Nurses. Management seems more concerned about making money. Bringing in more residents. Than quality care of the residents that are there. Also need more staff to cover assignments.
