Reclaim (Current Employee) –  Munfordville, KYJuly 25, 2018
Would be a great job to work at if they fixed the pay and fixed management. The pay is low and checks are messed up regular. The mangment has favorites, who get treated better and they do not completely do their job.

An overall good place to work. Pay is great for the area. Management is easy to work with and try to be fair. There is a lot of overtime leaving very little life outside of work.

Terrible sewing floor
Sewing (Former Employee) –  Munfordville, KYJanuary 23, 2018
The company is small and favoritism is an all time high. 6 days a week, unable to use any earned time off per HR. When contacting HR you'll never get through or get a call back. That management is terrible, and allowing people to fall asleep on the job without any consequence. Yet another thinks she has cancer and they won't give her the time off to find out. So she quits. Company is awful!
Pros
Weekly pay
Cons
Literally everything else

Packer/Shipper (Former Employee) –  Munfordville, KYJanuary 13, 2018
There was a task everyday at work. Learned to find the product by using a chart with a product number and the company name on it. The management worked with employees so the production crew worked well together.

Best Description...OK
Associate (Current Employee) –  Boca Raton, FLJanuary 12, 2018
When you weigh all the pros and cons of working at Hollander, it is just an OK place to work.

Hollander has an old-style, structured environment that you'd probably associate with the times of the industrial revolution in a way. In some senses, it is difficult for them to keep up with current times, but since they are in the manufacturing industry and they keep consuming their competitors through acquisitions...that allows them to keep thriving today.

They like to keep a lean workforce and squeeze every ounce of work out of their employees while paying mediocre wages. At the production facilities, they force their employees to work "mandatory overtime". Many employees agree in the interviews because they are desperate to get a job, but then shortly leave within a few months when they realize they are working 50-60 hrs a week, including weekends.

At the corporate office, many of their employees are stressed and overworked with additionally responsibilities put on them from constant acquisitions, and the pay does not increase with the workload or even warrant the amount of work in the first place. Since many employees turnover in the corporate office as well, they have to reshuffle employees' positions and have to find replacements often. So I suppose on the bright side if you're looking for quick upward mobility, you can just wait until someone quits and you can possibly be put as their replacement if your seen as a hard worker.

But you ask what are the pros that make it deemed to be OK....they provide alright health benefits, 401k, and PTO (which tends to be hard
more... to use with the amount of work you need to accomplish- and it doesn't roll over to the next year). They are very much pro health and fitness, so at the corporate office, they give employees paid gym membership and also provide lunch-and-learns with fitness professionals coming to educate employees about wellness. They also have masseuses come in once of month to give 10-min massages to employees. Sometimes they have luncheons and holiday parties. They also have employee sales for products that have been tested by the quality department, with products costing $1, $5, $10 depending on how expensive they would be at market (although it would be much better if they just gave the pillows for free to their employees if that is too much to ask for....).

So if you look at the whole picture, Hollander is OK. Nothing special and nothing great, but maybe a few good perks which are basically outweighed by the cons. I wouldn't recommend working here, but there are worse places I suppose...

The management is one of the worst I've seen with almost no place for advancement.
Production Artist/Designer (Former Employee) –  Boca Raton, FLJanuary 8, 2018
I've never worked anywhere else with such a complete lack of care for its employees. Any work-related agreements can be changed or "forgotten." The management style seems based completely on bias and personal moods rather than quality of work or diligence. Rather than being considered when trying to suggest ways for improvement on organization, efficiency, etc., you are treated as lesser and expendable. The only reason I gave it 2 stars rather than 1 is because I think some departments may be better managed than others (though I cannot be certain). My department had been completely turned over (other than myself) with 3 different teams in about 2 years (and that's only the turnovers I know of). That in itself speaks volumes.

A day at Hollander was a great challenging and competitive. I enhance, learn how supervise, work with people and daily challenges. I manage working with the lines and shift supervisors. The hardest part of the job was only the distance other than that i enjoy every day and learn on a daily base.
