Think twice, then think again.
As a field service technician, typically start at 6 am. Will have at least a half hour of paperwork. When you get dispatched, better call the customer first. Some days, might get 3 jobs that don't pan out.(Customer already fixed, some one is already there, etc). Management just wants a body at the jobsite. You need to make friends with other field service guys as fast as possible, because that's who will train you. Most field service guys will help you, but there are some old grumpy guys that won't. The hardest part of the job to learn is the paperwork. I know of one guy that "donates" about 5 hours every Saturday morning to get caught up. You will be asked to break company policy, and the law. Logoff your Trimble device(DOT timekeeping device), and run overweight. You will not be provided the proper safety equipment for the job,(safety harness equipment for fall protection) even though that's against company policy, and many of the customers policy. But it's your fault if you get hurt.
Lipservice to safety, Managements focus on bonus, at the expense of customers and employees.
