Companion Caregiver in Herndon, VA

I enjoyed working with clients. It was a joy to provide care and companionship to an older generation and I learned so much from each of them. I did not enjoy working for the company. I felt disrespected and underpaid. The reason I left was because they could not provide me with a steady client load within a reasonable commute from my house. Also, I had started walking dogs part time and found that I was paid more for that than taking care of elderly clients.

Management was awful. They never had you a set schedule. They would text you a hour before a shift and ask if you can pick it up and couldn’t because it was last minute and you have babies to take care of. They never was organized and wanted you to drop everything that second for them. They don’t care if you have kids or not. They come first and will get mad if they ain’t before your OWN kids.

Absolutely amazing team to work with. Everyone working in the office is supportive and understanding. It can be very fast paced for an office setting.

Checks in to make sure you are not burned out. Open with your schedule. Makes sure you have all supplies that’s needed for you and your clients to be safe. Makes you feel like family and make you feel like home at the office.

I didn’t have the best experience working here. My hours constantly changed even with a permanent client. You never really know what your hours will look like because your hours are based on how long the client needs you there. They may only need you to work 3 or 4 hour shifts at a house. Also, they aren’t clear with the personal care goals of some of the clients upfront. Some clients you may have to lift and transfer. That could be a con for some, if you haven’t been been trained or have a CNA background. They also don’t care care about staff they just want “ a warm body in the houses. The pay isn’t the best. I was grateful for my job but quickly found another one!
