Overall great
Digital Marketing Consultant (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJune 14, 2019
Great place to work, free lunch and dinner is a huge plus, fun work environment, tons of contests, free tickets, raffles, cash giveaways, HUGE earning potenital. However if you are not super confident and focused it could be challenging and the base pay isnt enough to live off comfortably unless you are at home with mom. Also many unhappy customers make it discouraging at times. Just overcome objections and sell... some people are natural and make $6,000 2 week paychecks straight out of training. Is that normal? No. But I have seen it done.
Pros
Free food, great management, great culture
Cons
Challenging, tiring, frustrating at times to not hit commission over things like a background check not passed

The Benefits were Wonderful
Online Sales Marketing (Former Employee) –  Golden, COOctober 11, 2018
I can say for the fast-paced world of marketing they had no problem taking care of their salesmen. I would honestly say they are treated beyond anything you would expect.

Wouldn't Work There Again
ONLINE MARKETING CONSULTANT (Former Employee) –  Golden, COSeptember 19, 2018
The people are really nice to work with but the majority of people you're making sales calls to are rude or just hard to work with. People lie to you all day even to the point of coming in on your day off then they miss an appointment, just gets really frustrating. Options on their 401 (k) could be worse but could be a lot better a lot of it goes into funds based around oil which if you're younger seems like it'd crash right around the time you want to retire. There's some question about how well the system works for the contractors.
Pros
Great Coworkers
Cons
Dull, Getting Yelled At Constantly, Difficult People, Not Sure About The Product

Fun if you like inside sales, h e l l if you don’t
Online Marketing Consultant (Former Employee) –  Colorado Springs, COJune 30, 2018
HomeAdvisor is a cutthroat company to work for. You have to be really good with your voice (ie. tone, persuasion, likability) if you don’t have tough skin, you will in fact fail and they have no problem walking you out if you aren’t making them money.
Pros
Work environment is amazing, benefits
Cons
Intense selling- your life depends on it

You should care more about the inside sales rep instead of your sales then I can garuntee you would get more sales if the reps felt appreciated instead of being worried about getting terminated everyday for not hitting impose sales goals

Not for everyone
Online Marketing Consultant (Former Employee) –  Indianapolis, INMay 22, 2018
They give you A LOT of incentives to do well because the job itself is not fulfilling and is not appealing. A lot of young people work there because experienced sales people do not enjoy that position.
Pros
They do everything they can to make the workplace pleasurable
Cons
The job itself is mind numbing and awful

Cold call and prospect accounts throughout the day, strive to hit 3 hours of phone productivity per day and submit 3 sales weekly. Taught me many lessons personally and professionally.

ONLINE MARKETING CONSULTANT (Current Employee) –  Golden, COJuly 16, 2017
If you like to goof around a lot and have constant distractions, this is the place for you. If you are a good person who has a hard time lying to customers, don't apply. If you have no problem being misleading and getting the sale at all costs, you will make a ton of money here.
Pros
Lot of good people and they buy you food 3 to 5 times a week.
Cons
Bad commission structure, terrible ratrace type sales game, lot of shady people that get paid very well and good people not paid enough.

Amazing place and company to work for!
Online Marketing Specialist (Current Employee) –  Lenexa, KSJuly 4, 2017
HomeAdvisor is an amazing place to work. It is by far the most fun/rewarding place I've ever worked at. And at the same time it's probably the toughest job that I've ever had. It's a constant grind, and the selling isn't easy. But once you get the hang of it. Then you're golden.
Pros
Awesome pay structure, great team environment, fun place to work.
Cons
Mentally draining, it's a constant grind.

The work isn't tough in itself as more frustrating it can be at times with the high number of dials compared to the number of sales you are expected to make. The office culture and great coworkers however make it a fun place to work and hone your sales skills.
Pros
Great culture
Cons
Limited upwards mobility

Online Marketing Specialist (Former Employee) –  Lenexa, KSApril 24, 2017
This is by far and away the best place I have ever worked! Management team is there for you to help coach through training difficulties. The day consisted of team huddles to motivate and pass on new policies, a lot of calling and computer work. I learned a lot about sales and myself.
Pros
Laid back atmosphere that encourages a positive workday
Cons
That it is sales, and I am not good at sales.

Productive and fun place to work with ping pong table
Online Marketing Consultant (Former Employee) –  Lenexa, KSMarch 16, 2017
Best place to work in Kansas City 2016 for a reason. Very hard job, very good commission. Awesome culture and work environment. A typical day includes prospecting for new clients, then cold calling and trying to make sales.
Pros
Excellent Atmosphere
Cons
Easy concept, difficult to execute.

ONLINE MARKETING CONSULTANT (Former Employee) –  New York, NYFebruary 13, 2017
The nature of the job is sales via cold-calling. Overall, the job is rigorous and performance plays a huge role in terms of job security. Although that is the case, you are given all the tools to exceed. Management is always teaching, giving pointers and is always there to help with any concerns and inquiries.
Given that the job is rigorous, the workplace environment is fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and always willing to help, even management; the epitome of teamwork.
Pros
Free lunches, free dinner, ping-pong tables
Cons
Very demanding work

HomeAdvisor 101
Online Marketing Consultant (Former Employee) –  Manhattan, NYFebruary 1, 2017
HomeAdvisor is an overall great company to work for.
THIS IS A SALES JOB. Apart from hitting sales goals and quotas, you must maintain efficiency and this job requires time and effort input. That means, sometimes staying in late to learn, improve, and hit sales goals. Management is mostly great and the culture is the best of all, really is the best setting with the best perks, with fantastic people and events and outstanding commission plans/incentives.
The hardest part of the job is of course hitting your numbers consistently every pay period. Work hard! You must quickly decide and know where you stand. You need to accept and learn the product, follow the system, and help keep momentum. Management is very supportive and will help you hit numbers! At the end of the day, the people, for the most part, are what make this place so worthwhile.
Pros
Culture, money, perks, schedule, food, benefits, events.
Cons
constant pressure If you aren't profitable.
