Great stepping stone, can be very stressful and micromanaged
Customer Care Service Associate (Current Employee) –  Wall, NJJuly 11, 2018
You have to be opened to change. If you are a person that does not like change or speaking to people on the phone, this job is not for you. Started out with about 4 months of training. Some of it was fun, some was not. You do learn a lot but there are some things they cannot train you for. Once you get up on the floor, the fun is over. Typical day you can take anywhere from 25-40 calls a day. You are on a strict schedule and if you are off the phone and it is not your scheduled time, someone will call your line or send you an instant message. You get a 15 min AM break, a 30 minute lunch (sucks) and a 10 min PM break.
You are reviewed on a monthly basis, you have to meet certain numbers and be within adherence, you have to maneuver through at least 10 systems a day.
Only good thing is some of the people that work here. Morale here is very low. Big company but they can do better with functions and showing appreciation to their employees.
You don't have enough time in the day to do what you have to do, it is very easy to fall behind here.
You basically are glued to your desk, if not you are out of adherence.
Pros
Benefits, Pay, Cafe
Cons
Limited break, hours, Adherence

On any given day I am assigned cases that require investigation. These cases come in a form of a complaint from various offices, including members. Executive complaints have a turn around time of 5 business days, legislative, New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance have a 15 business day turn around time. Each case is different, and some require extensive reviews while others are simple.

BUSINESS ANALYST III (Former Employee) –  Newark, NJMay 8, 2018
Horizon provides a great work/life balance. The culture is changing to allow more flexibility and agility throughout the organization and that's exciting. There's a free gym, the building is modern and open. A great place to work but there is definitely room for improvement in regards to diversity in the leadership body.

Christine day
Administrative Assistant to VP Marketing and PD (Current Employee) –  Newark, NJMay 4, 2018
Commuter, so my day begins with a full hour commute each way.
Arrive in my office by 8:30 everyday. Immediately check emails for anything urgent and check all calendars to see what the day has to bring and check for all updates to meetings.

Prepare all information for meetings.
Spend at least one hour daily in Ariba. This includes paying invoices and increasing PO's as needed. Own currently 200 PO's

Attend any meetings on calendars with Leadership Team for my input on budget updates..

Coordinate travel and pay receipts for team in Concur.

Call Center Representative (Current Employee) –  Newark, NJApril 24, 2018
Must be perfect in order to succeed in this company. I would not recommend anyone who wants to enjoy a good working environment to work here. Quality audits you on all of your bad calls or calls that you did not do 100% in. The system is designed for you to fail.
