first otr tractor trailer company
Written by Class A OTR Driver (Former Employee) from Birmingham, AL on January 26, 2018
Unlike dryvan Hornady was a flatbed company. It is difficult to be a flatbed operator. Handling tarps in all kinds of weather conditions is very taxing. The tarps are heavy and cumbersome, freezing in the winter making it very difficult to use and to handle. I don't ever see me hauling via flatbed again, I prefer dryvan. It is easier to back, alley - more ... dock or even park a flatbed trailer as opposed to dry van. Not only is tarping involved but also using bungee straps, wooden 4X4s, edge protectors and coil racks are also used. - less
