prepared meals for home bound senior citizens throughout Huron County and a meal for the dining center. Visiting with the senior citizens was a blessing. They were an adventurous group and very active for their age

This place was soul draining. Management was condescending and coworkers were rude. There was very little training, and I often felt unsafe doing in-home visits. When I approached management about my concerns, they blew me off. There was little trust from management, down to having to take your lunch and breaks at the time they allow. I definitely would not recommend this place.

Not worth it. This company is looking for smarmy minions, akin to Flotsam and Jetsam, those creepy-eyed eels that served Ursula the Sea Witch in the Little Mermaid. If you're cool with that, hop on board. If you cannot imagine anything better than joining a cast of anxiety-ridden sitting ducks whose every moves are counted and catalogued by school marm-esque hall-monitoring overseers, and, if your heart skips a beat at the thought of being severely micromanaged, then you really should run, not walk, straight into the HDC lobby for an application. Tip: If you really want to land the job, at your interview you should hunch your shoulders just a bit, nervously wring your hands, and lower your eyes to demonstrate your sincerest desire to replace all self-confidence with inferiority and absolute submission to the bosses. (Note: "boss" and "leader" are two completely different kinds of people.) If, however, you value your life and self/soul, then take pass on this employer. The pay is awful, the benefits are even worse, and there is not one ounce of humanity at this place, a place that prides itself on promoting "human development".

The motives and desires of employees to do someone good and help an many as we can. The staff works together and has a great conversation dialogue. You can ask questions and use your resources to help more people.

Working at HDC is never boring! The mission of the agency is Restoring Hope by Helping People and Changing Lives, and that is obvious from the variety of programs provided and customers served, from babies to the elderly. If you truly want to make a difference in the lives of people in the community, HDC is the place for you! I have worked here for 22 years now, and I am always challenged and encouraged to work smarter, try new things, and stretch myself personally and professionally.
