Social worker in Boise, ID

It pays well for work completed. Billable hour and hourly bonus for completed and correct work turned in. Boise office is a awesome place to work. Peers are supportive and helpful
Administrative in Caldwell, ID

HSI is a great place to work and is fairly flexible depending on client needs. To be successful, direct service employees need to be organized, and have good client engagement and time management skills. Administrative employees need to be dependable and engaged in performing their job. This company is funded under fee-for-service and has very detailed documentation requirements to be reimbursed for services that are set by insurance companies. Employees who have difficulty adhering to these requirements or engaging with clients struggle since pay is tied to the services they deliver. Some folks have a difficult time accepting these realities and frequently choose to blame management for their struggles.

I was very excited to work for HSI when first hired. I believed they had a team like atmosphere, supported their CBRS/CPSS/CM workers and cared about the service they provided to their clients. Not what I encountered at all. The community based workers are treated like yesterdays trash. It's very difficult to get paid for the hours you put in, lots of hoops you have to jump through and you working for free is not "their concern".

Working for HSI in the Community Resource field is frustrating at best. If you are considering a career at HSI, choose the Boise office. Their Handbook will tell you most of what you need to know about the pay structure and expectations, read it carefully. Demand adequate training on their compensation proceedures, HSI will do everything they can squeeze your billable hours, expecting you to work for free. It is a constant fight to be paid for your time between yourself and their billing office. Support and training from Magement at the Caldwell office is nil. I know that most of the agencies in the Community Resourse field leave much to be desired, and HSI could be one of the better to work for, but go in with your eyes wide open.
Case Manager and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselor in Caldwell, ID
on April 29, 2020
I had the opportunity to work with people with mental health disabilities by helping them learn about their strengths and develop skills needed to manage their care, social lives, etc. I learned so much from my clients that I have been able to take forward in my career.
