But if your not expert level with in a 4 month period then your handed walking papers! But its fun and they do help lots of animals. You got to see the bad side of humanity ppl who didnt want old dogs or had a family and now the dog or cat becomes a burden. Also everyone has to be euthanasia trained and certified. And if you got the slightest bit emotional then you where given a hard time by managers. But all in all its a great place to work.

The work is fast paced; I'm on my feet all day and I love it. I love helping everyone help the animals. This is an AWESOME place to work. The animals are amazing of course and the staff has welcomed me!

The hours have always been flexible for me. It gets busy in the evening time and weekends. The best part of the job is interacting with the animals and seeing them get adopted.

It really sucks to be here. The animals lack care and compassion the moment they walk through the door and I doubt any of the management here knows how to actually do their job. It’s a sad joke really. There’s a mice problem, management problem, hostile environment, the list could go on. The shelter is going downhill fast. Better run away from this mess while you can.

The Humane Society of Weld County has quickly become one of the most distrusted establishments in all of Colorado to take care of pets adequately and safely. After usurping old management, the new management decided to become kill-happy with kittens and other animals in order to make space. The shelter nearly euthanized an entire litter of kittens for space purposes. The new DO has appointed her boyfriend to behavior specialist without interviewing other qualified candidates, so you can say goodbye to the opportunity for upward movement. They have wrongly euthanized animals due to a lack of understanding of their own intake system and direct failure from management. Under appreciated staff while there and unprofessional towards former staff after they realized what a mess the situation is. STAY AWAY.
