People's experience may vary widely
Huron's top management seems to want Huron to be a good, progressive company that values its employees. That filters down into the actual culture within the company very inconsistently. Huron is very cliquish so to be successful you will need to find some clique that accepts you.

Huron does not have managers/supervisors per se but rather coaches. It is very important that your coach likes you so you need to put a lot of effort into making sure that person likes you even if you don't really feel you have much in common with the coach or that you have common values. Coaches will be the ones that 'sell' you to the organization or let you kind of wither on the vine. Some coaches are great advocates for their coachees, others are not very attentive at all. You can change coaches but that can be tricky because if your coach feels like you rejected her/him they might actually work against your career progression.

You may have opportunities to learn a lot at Huron. You just need to be careful to align with some clique and hopefully a clique that can help you advance.

Productive and fast paced workplace
People are super friendly and helpful. Consulting is a fast paced work environment requiring one to work on multiple projects and attend to ad hoc requests and multiple fires.

Nice place to work, nice folks, leadership needs help.
This was a good role, until some company re-organization and down-sizing due to "flat sales". As soon as they moved me under a Jr. leader, my time at Huron ended.
Pros
Nice view from downtown.
Cons
incompetent engineers that don't know how to write documentation, or some how rationalized that it's okay to never document anything. Abysmal.

Could be great if hours were realistic
Management is typically more concerned with hours than productivity. They are proud that most salaried employees are there at least 52 hours a week, even if those hours are not all productive. Get the job you want going in because they *refuse* to look at your resume or past experience if you want to move up (or laterally) in the company. You have to put in extra hours to prove experience outside of your current position to advance or move to another department even if you have years of applicable experience from other companies. They are also insistent that this is typical and 'everyone does it that way.'

Purposeful Work
Enjoyed the challenge of matching our capabilities to the needs of the client. Use of evidenced-based tactics supported the branding of the company. Peers are very smart and supportive.

Hardest part of the job
The tools have to offer helps the individual grow professionally. The hardest part was not knowing the leadership and structure. It changes the approach that individuals have to adapt to when coming from another organization.

Great place to start your career
Good launching point for a career in healthcare. New York City location is great. Projects are varied and interesting. No complaints overall, thought it is consulting so you will eventually want to move on.

Consultant Experience Decent
Experience had its ups and downs. Did not feel company's management had its consultant's back. Expectations for consultant is not always known before starting assignment.

Management is in over their head
Poor communication and onboarding process left me on my own to figure out how to get basic things done. I was immediately traveling coast to coast after after being told I was going to not travel or travel regionally. I was then reviewed poorly for not meeting expectations that were never shared with me.

Be Leary
Management needs help. They do not follow Huron policies specifically at the Pensacola branch. They are having many growing pains. It can be a very toxic and taxing environment. They have a huge turn over rate and it’s all about the dollar sign. Plus, the salary is super low for the living expenses in Pensacola. You will be expected to do managerial work but get paid at an entry level associate pay for a couple of years That area just needs better jobs with higher pay.

Great place to work
I was happy to meet so many great people at Huron. We value diversity and work life balance. HR at this company could use some work but retention is good. Yearly employee reviews are based on rumors and executive relationships rather than contribution.

Good Company, unfortunately in the process of offshoring key roles
Huron is a good place to work. Unfortunately they are currently in the process of offshoring many key roles. The work life is decent with daily huddles with a tight knit team.

Long days and long travel
Huron is an excellent company filled with very bright hard working people. The room for improvement is with the constant travel and long hours. It is expected that you work 5 or more hours of overtime daily when projects are busy. There is no break time, the work must get done. The weekly travel makes having a life outside of work difficult and can stress your personal life.
Pros
SkyMiles and uncapped PTO, quick promotion timelines
Cons
Long hours, extensive travel

Standard Consulting Gig
Huron is a growing firm with a small-firm mentality. They're lacking the infrastructure and standards you might expect given their size. The work is pretty standard for management consulting. The pay is subpar due to being a publicly traded company.

Enjoyed my experience with Huron, great people to work with.
90% travel to client sites weekly, Monday through Thursday. Average 40 - 60 hour weeks. Gained great experience working with all levels of hospital staff, from end users to C Suite executives. Had ample opportunities to interact and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff. Visibility into various workplace cultures, processes and policies. Loved the teams I worked with and established relatiionships on personal and professional level. Hardest part of the job is the constant travel, but I like that.
Pros
Team outings, flexibility of job, variety of engagements
Cons
Hard to maintain work life balance

Do not waste your time with this company.
Unorganized. No clear structure. Change SOW and you accept or have to leave. Very cheap company. Try to get contractors to work hours they will not pay for or dispute. No mandate to make any decisions. Huron mgmt. is paranoid and always afraid they will lose their jobs. This attitude is passed on to the contractors whom they deem disposable.
Pros
Remote work.
Cons
Management is unstable and not educated in the projects they lead.

Great place to start a career
Small consulting teams (as compared to the big 4) means you are responsible for more and have greater client exposure. Salary and promotion recognition is lower than other management consulting firms.

Great culture with some challenges
The typical day at work starts with a meeting to focus the department, then work on support tickets. The technical tools are mostly SQL based, but there is some power shell and VBS in places.
The hardest part of the job was that the software is highly customized for some clients and supporting all those customizations is problematic.
Pros
Great culture
Cons
Inconsistent training, too many versions of the software to support.
