I like working there. Reliable place to work, consistent work line, break and lunch times are normal. Easy place to move up if you show the work effort.

Hydroblaster (Former Employee) –  Deer Park, TXJuly 24, 2018
Company lacked hours and kept scheduling safety council classes because they didn't have work at the time. They lacked communication and didn't tell anyone that there wasn't any work available until the day of.

Pros

Cons
Not enough respect

Good place to work. Lots of overtime that makes up the slow season.
Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Deer Park, TXJune 26, 2018
The day to day operations were manageable. I learned how to manage multiple jobs at different locations at once. Management was not as responsive as needed, but the jobs got done. The employee turnover was high so constant training was a must. Obtaining the equipment needed to complete jobs and keeping knowledgeable employees was the hardest part of the job.
Pros
Management experience
Cons
Poor Management

Chemical Technician (Former Employee) –  Laplace, LAMay 14, 2018
This is a very good job for someone looking to get into the oil refining or chemical processing field. Typical duties for a chemical cleaning technician included building temporary pipelines using chemical hoses and pumping chemicals into the chemical cleaning circulators were used to clean industrial processing systems.

Automation Technologist/Automation Implication (Former Employee) –  Lake Jackson, TXApril 30, 2018
Hydro-chem was a interesting place of employment, mainly due to the fact that management had the shot from the hip mentality. Little room for advancement in the company due to hiring competitors employees as was my case. Very nice equipment however which was plus. This is just based on the division I worked at in Texas can comment on any of the others.

Hard dangerous work place, safety is a must
Catalyst technician (Former Employee) –  Deer Park, TXMarch 18, 2018
This job is great for a man without a family a single Bachelor the money is great very great you work on a job needed basis mainly out of town 85% of the time out of state. Safety has to be your very first priority never get complacent that's rule number one always keep your eyes open and on your toes without that you can lose your life anytime. In the event I'm working inside a refinery oil plan plus gas plant anything can go wrong and your life can be gone in an instant so again the money is good but nothing can replace your life. When working inside the refineries you are around a bunch of cancer-causing carcinogens mainly asbestos, benzene, you have to wear a H2S monitor the job it's very I repeat very dangerous short-term there no hazards long-term there very very dangerous hazards to your health cancer respiratory problems hearing problems eye problems depending on your job position inside the refinery.
Pros
The money was great
Cons
The job is very dangerous, hazardous, and lots of cancer causing agents.
